As far as I can remember, I was yet to be a fully qualified space cadet at that time. In the round I throught it was a shame. I would have thought the orbit was high enough. Just shows that the station needed it's own radio-controled flight module that could have made remote controlled orbit adjustments without crew aboard. Otherwise I would have sheduled an obit changing flight instead of doing the USA/CCCP meet-up. From Wiki: Skylab B A flight-quality backup Skylab was built. NASA considered using it for a second Skylab B station in May 1973 or later, but decided against it. Launching another Skylab with another Saturn V rocket would have been very costly, and it was decided to spend this money on the development of the Space Shuttle, instead. The backup is on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Been there, done that, got the T shirt. As far as I recall there were no fatalities from Skylab's re-entry and subsequent crash (into the Pacific - or was that Mir?), as some enterprising folk started marketing Skylab protective hard-hats. The jingle began "i'm protected, he's protected, we're protected..." and was pretty annoying. I've also been to the Arr & Space museum but I got a Smithsonian Sweatshirt (which I'm sure I must still have somewhere, even though its shrunk and is now too small). Ok, erm, I suppose I did ask. I know not to in future.

Erm, all well and good, but where were you when they wanted to stop Skylab falling out of orbit?

Talking about Ralf Little, remember his mam in the Royle Family, Sue Johnstone? She's a workmate's Auntie..... I've got a better Lame to Fame©VIZ, though. Remember Kirsty Maccoll. Well, the guy who played the piano on "There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis" used to go out with my sister, and I'VE MET HIM..... Impressive, eh? -

The Ashes stay home! We already had them! Well done to the Poms, for once. I feel that last time, you won, but didn't earn it -- Australia (Ponting more like) gifted it to you with some baffling and very poor captancy. But this time you won it well, no questions asked. Like I said, well done. Now, shut up and let's get on with something else. Rugby?Union Kiwis rule at the proper version of the game, we can't beat 'em though. Interesting the clip you linked has an ex-league player scoring a try, Union trained players only kick goals. See also Jason Robinson. Anyway, it's off topic. -
As I run the Stupid Questions League sub-forum elsewhere, or do a lot in the running, if it's just an "enter and some other sucker sorts it out" thing, yeah, I'm game.

Liverpool haven't sacked a manager since the 50's, though there may have been one or two who have left 'by mutual consent'; these usually happen during the close season. Roy Evans was the last to resign mid-season after his work-share with Houllier didn't work out, back in '98. For these reasons, I dismiss any notion that the first managerial casualty will be at Anfield. I reckon it's more likely to be in London - SW6 to be more precise. You are Mystic Meg and I claim my £5...

Bill Tarmey. I did tip Kim Jong Il to be the first mind, but the law of averages etc.

Ah, the Archers. Never did get into it mesen, but my late gran was addicted. Every time it came on, cats would appear from everywhere at the first notes of the theme tune, as she fed them when the evening broadcast came on. They always seemed a bit miffed at the "go hungry" afternoon show. So, was Ambridge shaken to the core? Or did the missing scarecrow turn up?

How far away were you?

For some reason I want her to survive for years, in confused pain, receiving substandard care, getting bedsores.

Over the year, it was Nielson, Wisdom and Blake who hurt most. Folks who had made me laugh, and can't again with new stuff.

Kim jong il He's been displaying his successor a lot recently, there must be a reason.

Hi all, just thought I'd get the "cunt calling" out of the way. Been called worse anyway, since the "dead sheep" incident, I didn't know there was a dead lamb in there as well, did I? Anyway, looking over the 2011 list, I think there may be regrets Chuck Berry isn't included.
