Touching tribute here. -
Well, I couldn't resist the temptation and invested 99p in the Kindle version. I'm quite liking it so far, but will report back when I've finished.

We may possibly be about to have a renaissance in the manufacture of iron lungs. Not something I ever expected to post. https://www.citynews1130.com/2020/03/25/alberta-team-creates-breathing-machine-prototype-as-ventilator-backup/

Coronavirus death toll 2020
DevonDeathTrip replied to paddyfool's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
A minimum of five million people died in Congo's civil war and it barely made the news. Ten thousand people there have died of measles in just over a year, a condition for which a vaccine exists, yet we barely bat an eyelid at all this completely unnecessary suffering. Those who tremble in fear at the onset of the coronavirus would do well to develop a sense of perspective and be thankful for what they have. I'm sorry to say this country has become riddled with self-serving, yellow-bellied, lily-livered cowards. What's happened to our fighting spirit? My God, we're only asked to stay on our sofas for a few weeks and you'd think it's Armageddon. We seem to have lost the ability to suffer, even for a little bit. -

We're going to be OK. We need to keep the faith, stay strong, do the right things and we'll get through this. I predict a roaring 2020s with a healthier and happier society. We cannot be ruled by fear! -

Doubt it. By then civilisation as we know it will have collapsed, cannibalism will be rife and weird sects will be chanting in the hills -
Dominic Raab featuring prominently on the rumour mill tonight. He could have infected the whole cabinet...

I was reading somewhere that the high death rate of Iranian politicians maybe to do with many of them being veterans of the Iran vs Iraq war of the 1980s, during which copious amounts of mustard gas were fired upon them at the behest of Saddam Hussain, thereby causing lasting lung damage which has now caught up with them.
