    Life In Prison

Speared in the head with a broken broom handle apparently...

    Deathlist Cup 2024

This is good news. I was worried more important things might have been happening in South Dakota.

    Deathlist Cup 2024

Jan Nicolay, a pick for a couple of us, died yesterday. Incredibly, for one of the best known educators in Sioux City, she's not seeing much in the way of proper obit action yet. I understand she has one in the Dakota Free Press, but I can't get the website to load.

    Kiwi Karkers

Peter Robb, who made headlines in 2009, after police with stun grenades attended his address in Dunedin to rescue a hapless German citizen he had met online and enticed under false pretences, has died. A reclusive character, it is reported Robb may have been dead for "some time" before his remains were discovered.

Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen

The forward was written by Peter Roebuck, who was evidently so inspired by the book, that he subsequently leapt to his death from a hotel window several years later. The book (I've got a copy too!) was originally titled "By Their Own Hand".

Jerry O'Donnell, one of my picks and the stadium announcer for the Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons baseball team.

    Hans Christian Rausing

Billionaire husband and wife Hans Kristian and Eva Rausing have both just been charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine. According to this Daily Mail "exclusive", they're both caught in a downward spiral of chronic drug abuse.

    Sharon Osbourne

@The Old Crem I have hidden your most recent post as, yet again, you have chosen to regurgitate a tweet and plaster it here with no context whatsoever. The tweet has no information about Sharon Osborne's health and you haven't even bothered to type anything which may indicate why it might be interesting. If you want to have another go, you're welcome. You seriously need to work on your quality control though!

    The Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Thread

I was thinking of coming with a deadpool theme team comprised of people with a surname beginning with Z. However I am struggling a bit, the only ones I've thought of so far are: Velimir Zajec - former Portsmouth manager, ill with motor neurone disease Efrem Zimbalist - Actor And that's it. Wikipedia has a massive list of live Zs, but I can't be bothered to trawl through all of it. I need more old and ill Zs. (Not dead Zs, they can go on the dead thread) any suggestions would be gratefully received If this goes the way of the last thread I started (about Fleetwood Mac) I'll be very disappointed.

    Professional Cyclists

Impressive how Remco Evenepoel, with less than a second's thinking time, managed to bunny hop over that ditch at around 40 mph before coming to grief.

    Deathlist Cup 2024

Thanks and bad luck on one of your picks finding the back of the net just as the final whistle was blown. Hope you come back stronger next year

    Deathlist Cup 2024

Good luck Sir Creep. Both of my subs were used late last night. My joker, Sheriff Lacy Rogers, jumped the starting gun and I fell victim to one of those news bots which provided a seemingly contemporaneous account of Nicholas Lloyd Webber's critical ill health.

    UK Singles Chart

I must have seen him at least a couple of times with Fairport. Reading through Conway's Wiki page, that's quite a CV.
  17. Nick Du Toit who was jailed for 34 years for his part in the failed uprising in Equatorial Guinea, might be a good wildcard bet for 2006. He was the fall guy of the operation, whilst the bigger fish such as Mark Thatcher and Simon Mann got off comparatively lightly. Amnesty International rank the prison system in E Guinea as one of the worst in the world, few inmates survive more than 3 years. As Mr Du Toit as been in the slammer for 2 years already and has another 31 to go and as he has been abandoned to his fate by those with friends in high places, he might just give up and die before too long.

    Royal Family

I wonder how Camilla's public profile will evolve over the next year or so? She seems like a bit of a trooper and her visibility will increase as she stands in for Charles. Big Archers fan as well.

    Football Manager Sacking Bingo 3

An article on why my beloved Exeter City, who haven't sacked a manager in over twenty years, are unlikely to feature on this thread much.

    Derby Dead Pool 2024

Marwan Issa One thing Israel, Hamas and the US can all agree on - he's dead.

    Time Added

As he's on my cup squad, I'd liken that to a straight red card.

    Israeli Targets

Issa was a pick for A Pelican in the Wilderness on the DDP, who will soar to new heights if points are awarded. Hamas have confirmed he is dead.

    Deathlist Cup 2024

"Deteriorating Health" is a good search term. In my experience African media seem to use it as a euphemism for "about to drop dead", hence me including our man Kabobo when I saw this at the end of February.

    Last Of The Iron Lungs

(...) Moving on, there are very few people left alive who use an iron lung. Now there is one less, following a power cut in Boston, which killed Dianne Odell, 61, who had relied on the machine since she was 3 years old.
