Well it varies from place to place. The Chips at Zanres (whatever) in Mintlaw have gained legendary status in the area whereas the chips at Zanres in Fraserburgh are like cardboard. I've stopped going to my local chip shop ever since they gave me food poisoning.

There is a good chance Hitler did not know about the death camps until later on. He became a very weak dictator. He said things in general conversation and his sidekicks did the work to gain his favour. For example, Hitler may have said ''I hate Jews'', and then 5 minutes later 6 million of them were dead to please the Fuhrer. He didn't need to give actual formal orders. He obviously knew of the racism of the regime because he promoted it but nothing about death camps. He probably did know about them but we can't be sure. He was far too busy watching films about the British Empire by that stage...

One of the best features of being doddery and forgetful is that you forget people are dead. I met a man (dementia sufferer) who was looking for his wife in a home. I later found out she was a resident of the local graveyard. She had been dead for two years. He's dead now too - saves me the headache....

I was rather shocked at a poster I saw in someones office at University today. The poster featured a picture of an old Margaret Thatcher with big bold writing reading "HURRY UP AND DIE". So at least we know we are not the only morbid buggers. As it goes Maggie was in the papers the last day - she went out for a walk (How that can be classed as news, I do not know).

Katie, at the time she was doing some sort of sailing thing. Our way of thinking was that if she were to fall overboard etc, she doesn't stand much of a chance. Nothing personal, I'm sure she's a very nice woman....
