    Death In The Family

Just gatecrash the wedding Graduate-style and put forward your reasons. Mind you, women do love a bastard... Believe me, I am going to have to try very bloody hard to keep my mouth shut at the 'does anyone know of any just cause blah blah' - the only thing stopping me is that I know it will upset my sister. But believe me, when she is no longer in a fit state to know, I will be making damn sure that everyone from Land's End to John O Groats knows this little fuck's name and address. Object on the grounds that you slept with him last week. Might work...

    Gaddafi Guesses

I like Gaddafi's tactics - stay in hiding until the rebels fire all their ammo into the air. They really have embraced some American habits...

    Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi

Saif al-Islam - Gaddafi's son - has (according to some sources) been captured. He was supposed to take over from his father...before things went pear shaped.

    Top 10 People Alive Today

I can remember Churchill when he was alive and I can tell you he was as revered in life as he has been since his death (except in South Wales). Your argument, if it's worthy of the name, is plain daft. People don't become important because they have died although death does allow historians the perspective of distance when assessing a life that has been completed. Are you saying that Bardot is not remembered as an actress because she isn't dead yet or that Castro's place in history is not secure? Are you saying that Gorbachev's role in ending the Cold War is insignificant? Or that Mandela's role in ending apartheid is trivial? Or that the discovery of DNA or the development of the worldwide web that allows you to post such nonsense is nothing out of the ordinary? Get a grip Steve. After six years of hibernation I would have hoped for something better than this. I didn't know you were that old, Godot... He can remember Chamberlain waving his bit of paper too...

If it all gets too much for you, you could always take a short break to Fraserburgh. We don't really have any decent hotels left these days, but we do have a caravan park...

    Nelson Mandela

If he managed to get over the death of his granddaughter last year, I'm pretty sure he can cope with deaths of elderly friends. Given that he is 93, he is probably used to the idea of his comtemporaries dying...

Baroness Thatcher's London offices at the House of Lords have been closed. An aide has said it's unlikely she'll be seen in public again.
