Things To Do While Waiting For Death

No. I'm a retread from the old posting about "Richard O'Sullivan too much" days. -
Don't laugh. Millwall might still be trying to sign him.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death

Start using this forum again (too much?) after quite a while away. -
I love the fact that we're reporting the death of a the wife of a gold course architect. I've missed this place.
-
Do we have any evidence of his grumpiness beyond that Who article?
-
I see what you mean. But those two take years to die of. Would need something a bit more terminal to warrant inclusion I'd think.

Still with us. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perrie_Mans

Shows how long I've been off this forum. When I was a more regular user, Rolf Harris was still a beloved national treasure. So was Jimmy Saville for that matter.

I'm very well. Not dead, so back on this forum.

Link dead. Page not found.

Pretty physically punishing for a dying woman.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Downbound Train by The Smithereens. -
We'll have to form a subcommittee.

Haven't been on this forum for years and came to this thread first. Are we still planning on raiding the place?

After having a quick look at the Russel Watson thread last night it occured to me to ask, What is the best recovery of health by someone featured on the main Deathlist? Peter Shilton occurs to me as an immediate candidate as does Watson himself. Any ideas anyone else?

Depends on what you mean by good? It's pretty dated now (as is any television from the 1970s) both in look and feel (all this dystopian worldview is very much of it's time). However, I've got the first series on DVD and I enjoyed it (I'm only old enough to remember when it had Avon as the leader not Blake and subsequently being confused by the title!) and I hope to get the second series in the not too distant future... I'll give it a go then. Also, I think you'll find that the first series is up on youtube. I started watching it last Sunday and now I'm up to Series 1 Episode 7. I think it's brilliant. I love the downbeat tetchiness and the strong characterisation. I agree that the special-effects are very, very dated but if you can get past that there is a lot there. The politics are quite complicated too. The only small problem I've got is that I already know what happens at the very end from having seen it on lots of clip shows. But even that is not a problem because the characters are so interesting that you want to see how they get there and what happens along the way. I highly recommend it and I'm usually only a mild sci-fi fan.

Read Any Good Books Lately?

Just started this. I fell asleep reading the introductionlate last night. My first impression is that Starkey is slightly obsessed with the position of Groom of the Stool. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Henry-Virtuous-Prince-David-Starkey/dp/0007247729/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360672778&sr=1-5 -
Think it's still 15. Was just thinking "well, at least with this I'm right up there battling for 2nd and closing on OoO", only to find you've got him, along with most of the other contenders Still, points on the board and all that... Yep, R.I.P. , but well done everyone.

Treatment in and of itself won't make any difference.

I haven't used this forum much over the last few years and I had no idea that we'd adopted a club.I'll be watching thier results carefully from now on.

On the one hand Dickie O does seem to interest a lot of Deathlisters the way Clive Dunn did. On the other hand, like Clive Dunn, his retirement does seem to be very quiet and it doesn't generate a lot of news. Aye, the long game AKA dead pooling for the discerning fan! I agree, Dickie O is one for the old-school Deathlister.

The feeling on the other forum I use is that we broke the story and the Sun and Mail picked up on it.Certainly the wording is almost identical. http://www.millwall.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=102308&start=1 That story made me laugh EGN. I think that, sadly, he's a fair bet for next year's list.

I keep on meaning to watch Blake's 7 (all the episodes are up on youtube) but I've not gotten around to it yet. Is it really as good as people say?
-
Yep, I just saw it too. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2271496/Richard-Briers-battling-chronic-lung-disease--lifelong-friend-Prunella-Scales-shocking-confession-own.html ....not that I read The Mail you understand...
