    Interesting Ways To Die...

Well, they have been saying for years that sunbathing is bad for your health...

    Charles Haughey

Is this some special kind of cancer I've never heard of before, or is it a very clever pun that I don't get? If the former, it's absolutely the kind of cancer that I want to die of. (BTW - full snaps given for the prompt posting of Mr Haughey's obit)

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

Nicely used! Is it any wonder 'atheist' gets spelled wrong, what with it contradicting the whole "'i' after 'e' except after 'c'" rule? You atheists... always trying to be different, aren't you?

    Football

I'm currently following the Stanley Cup finals (ice hockey) which Channel 5 - bless 'em!! - are showing live. Maches start at 1am in England and generally last for 3 hours minimum. This makes for a very sleepy ie+... especially when I have to be up during the day to watch the footie.

    Football

If the US is anything like Canada in this regard, then it already has, to a lesser degree. Amateur football (of the 'soccer' variety) is MASSIVE in Canada - tons of leagues for all ages and genders. Unfortunately, it simply doesn't translate through to the professional level. There used to be a number of cities in Canada that had professional teams, but they all seem to have folded. I've seen the Canadian national team play several times, including an absolutely cracking match against Australia wherein both goalkeepers were red-carded. Not sure how my loyalties would lie/be divided if Canada were in the World Cup alongside England. Luckily/Sadly, it doesn't look as though that eventuality will come to pass anytime soon.

    Charles Haughey

My god! Normally I miss these grand events, only finding out about them after the fact, but here I am mere seconds after the fact - hurrah! Fantastic news for us - I was just thinking the other day how we could use another death. I'd like to thank Mr Haughey for taking my concerns so seriously.

    Claude Levi-Strauss

Have you got - like - any evidence for this claim? Plenty

    Claude Levi-Strauss

I was saddened to see that everyone's favourite DL candidate had fallen to the bottom of the DL candidate pile, so I decided to put my well-honed investigative skills to work and find out the Good Doctor's state of play. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything new to find, which is a pity. CNN.com did suggest that I look for him on ebay, but it was all fruitless.

    I Love Josco's Little Man

BHB is BB? Really? Now that I didn't realise. It's like how you hear about people with MPD who have one personality with cancer and another without cancer, and when the personality with cancer is dominant the cancer is present/detectable, and when the personality without cancer is dominant the cancer isn't present/detectable. Except substitute "cancer" with "alcoholic tendencies". And except for that time when BHB posted shedloads of drunken rubbish. Oh dear...

    McDonald's - bad for your health ...

Booooooooooooo! Two thumbs down. You suck. Huh? Not sure what you're implying, IE. I was referring to the film 'Supersize Me'. Watched that and it made me feel so sick I don't think I could ever eat another one in my life. The details in the film regarding the effects on long term health were alarming, to say the least. So, I try to protect my kids by feeding them healthy food...why the F**k does that make me suck? I was just sick of reading your quasi-waste-of-space myriad drunken posts in all the different threads you posted that night, especially the "Look Ma! I know swear words!"-themed ones. Sorry, I probably should have been more specific.

A personal matter, you say? Sigh. I wish I'd received a letter back from mr. haughey re: a personal matter. Come to think of it... if you received a personal letter back from mr. haughey, I wonder what you kind of letter you sent to him re: a personal matter, in the first place. Come on alex, do tell. Everything here's confidential, I promise.

Again, welcome! My new all-time favourite brand is Gsus Sindustries. They have some truly fabulous items but are, unfortunately, tres pricey. Their logo is a crown of thorns.

    McDonald's - bad for your health ...

Many years ago I heard on the radio that the "secret sauce" had been chemically analysed, and it turned out to be Thousand Island dressing. Not sure if it's true, but I reckon so. Also I believe it used to be the case that their "shakes" were called "shakes" and not "milkshakes" as there were, in fact, no milk ingredients in them at all, but rather potato powder stuff. Stopped drinking them after that, although that was many years ago and I would guess McDicks have pulled their socks up somewhat in terms of their ingredients. But who knows...

    Caption Competitions

If pedantry is what you're going for, allow me to join in: I don't think it is good writing to begin two almost-consecutive sentences with the same joiner (can't be f*cked to find the correct grammatical terms for joining words). I believe you should have started your final sentence with "finally". Thus: Sentences one and two. Furthermore, sentence three. Pretty picture. Finally, sentence four. That makes for a better-written read.

    Are You A Post Whore?

Kinda. But I don't think nine posts in a day makes you a post whore. rather someone who felt a lot of threads were interesting that day. Awww... Do I at least get points for effort?
