    Ideas and possibilities for 2008

Dick van Dyke is on both my DDP and HDP teams.

    31. Louis Farrakhan

Er... not exactly what I was expecting to find when I typed "Louis Farrakhan" into Google: The Louis Farrakhan African Name Generator [Edit: Whoops! I see it's already been posted. I was wondering why someone randomly posted "Huggy Bear" at the top of this page. Perhaps I should have read the first page of posts... Oh well... I guess that's what I get for trying to find some news about the candidates on my own. I shall revert to type, and wait for others to do the locating for me. ]

Didn't Lou Rawls die on Jan 7th last year? How apt if this Lou were to die exactly one year on!

    What Gives?

Assumedly you took the time to peruse the forum and see what it was all about before you joined, so why are you complaining about the content? You must be a member here for at least a year before you're allowed to criticise the DLCC's picks! Perhaps your plea for Phil's demise would have been better received here, in its proper place. There's a search facility in the upper right hand corner of the page - it can be a bit tricky, but it does work once you've figured it out. Welcome!

    Room 101

If he were gay, he wouldn't be trying to hump your leg. Sounds like you are being served by a dog. I don't know, Windsor. That happened to me this summer, in a salsa club. I was somewhat taken aback by it all, but the guy seemed to enjoy himself. Don't think he was gay, mind.

maybe she's got such saggy t!ts that it has pulled the skin on her forehead tight That's vulgar, and doesn't even make any sense. If it made sense (or was at all humorous or witty) it might be passable, but it doesn't and so it's just vulgar.

    Mad about Moderators

Who? Me?? I got the job by foolishly putting a whole bunch of £10 notes in the brown envelope instead of £5 notes. I prefer your old avatar. The new one is too scary!

It's a bit sobering when someone who's nearly 110 has fewer forehead wrinkles than yourself, and I'm fairly wrinkle free for 34 too... She looks and sounds in fine fettle. True, but do we know how long ago this picture of her was taken? It might have been snapped when she was a sprightly 50 years old. And if that's how she looked when she was 50, can you imagine what that chin must be like now?

    The Hartlepool Deadlypool

Don't worry. With my deadpool debut, I hope to be propping up the table. Team is called Please don't let them die, which rather sums up my feelings about the team-members. Excellent! You and I can live it up at the bottom whilst our competitors fiercely battle their way to the top. Now I understand why you selected Clive Dunn: kind of like those draft dodgers who injected vanilla extract into their veins in the '60s.

    The Hartlepool Deadlypool

Here's the final scoreboard. Yikes! Every team had at least one hit! This does not bode well for me having company at the bottom of the table by the end if the year...

    Derby Dead Pool 2007

We were allowed more than one team? If only I'd known! My one-and-only team is a theme team, and so I am not expecting to do that well. (Although admittedly, I probably couldn't have come up with enough names to fill more than one list...)

    2007 Deathlist picks

Hey! I have strong views too* . By the way, 2007 sees you looking even more fetching - if that's possible!! - in that lovely tophat of yours. *They just happen to coincide with your own top quality views, which are obviously based on intelligence, imagination, and the wit of a thousand men.

    2007 Deathlist picks

I don't think that people scheduled for execution should be excluded. If they're gonna die, they're gonna die. Why not put them on the list - a list, by way of reminder, that is all about naming people who may well die this year. My responses to this particularly weak attack are: 1) Why should I? and 2) I disagree. And if I didn't disagree, I would strongly consider the option of f*cking off and not returning to the site because I considered the selections unworthy of my continuous perusal.

    31. Louis Farrakhan

If he is, in fact, 73 years old, then the front page should read "74" as the age listed on the front screen is the age the candidate will be on this year's birthday.

    2007 Deathlist picks

Oh FFS Tempus, get off your high horse. What a ridiculous argument. The name of the game is total number of deaths - there aren't extra points for style or form. There never have been, and likely never will be. There's absolutely no difference between the candidates this year as compared to any other year; wasn't there a year when one of the candidates was "any one of the Beatles"? You're here for just over a year and you deem yourself the expert? Give me a break! I remember at the start of last year everyone was whinging and moaning about the choices, and as afore-noted it wound up being the 2nd best year ever. F*ck that they weren't extravagant picks - they died, and that's all that mattered. Gerald Ford was hardly topping the charts of drama and intrigue, but so what? A graduate is a graduate. I don't think Ruby is going to die this year (as noted in that other thread where I said just this) but that doesn't mean I don't think she's a reasonable and totally acceptable choice - she's a zillion years old FFS.

Who Has The Best Chances To Survive Dl 2007?

I voted for Ruby Mohammed. I reckon she has the makings to one day be the oldest living person.

    Abe Vigoda

Rather unfortunately, it would appear that this add-in is no longer available. I thoroughly enjoyed having it at the bottom of my browser, but said browser suffered a mini-meltdown last year and no longer do I have a tiny Abe smiling up at me. However 1) I now know who he is, and 2) he's on my DDP team. Go Abe!

It's my first time too, and I am always crap at competitions so I may well find myself residing at the bottom with you. Good luck! Well then... hello neighbour!
