I hope the old chap gets a bit of acclaim now that he's been rediscovered. I wonder if he'd get a UK obituary, unfortunately I kind of doubt it, otherwise he'd be an excellent DDP pick.

I'd be happy to help, where do these html files dwell?
-
Not quite. So much for journalists doing their research. Lazy bunch of sods mostly.
-
Second good call of the day for you TF. Had you listened to your instincts, you'd be miles ahead in the CPDP by now. Bugger! another one I'd completely forgotten about.
-
That is sad news for Mickey, but given that his son had been ill for a long time it's not going to come as a shock to him.
-
Replace hopeless with nut and you'd be correct.
-
DDT if you and I both voted for Barbera then why has he only got one vote? Are you sure you didn't accidentally vote for Ladybird Johnson?
-
Joseph Barbera, time for a reunion with Hanna.

Here's a link to that story. Personally I hope she hangs on until '07. She'd make a great DeathList and DDP selection.

Byron was so dull I'd almost forgotten he was on the list. Oh well, fare ye well Byron. You may not have been "Mad, bad and dangerous to know" but you sure could putt a little white ball into a hole. Gone to the great 19th hole in the sky.
-
Congratulations TF Lord Byron passes away Bloody hell, that's the first time I've ever got one right. Now why the hell didn't I pick him for the cpdp I wonder.

Too true, Lady Clarissa is a one trick pony, Dickie O' is all you get with her. Now if she could learn to diversify into other threads and give her dear old Dickie a rest, then all the better.

Destabilising a peaceful nation and leading to the rise to power of Pol Pot and the subsequent murder of 100,000's of men, women and children. Hey Hey USA! How many people have your Foreign Policies killed today?
-
Aldous Huxley. (Now very consistent)
-
Oh goody another pointless pinned thread.

Just one more of life's cruel blows, the answer lies in hard drink, don't let dogooders tell you any different. No you're not imagining it, fate really is laughing at you. Destiny is also having a good sN-word. Damn, you've cheered me up. I was quite enjoying that morose moment before you spoilt it. Nothing like a good wallow in the hot tub of self-pity, don't stay in there too long though it'll leave your self-respect all wrinkled.

Dunno, why doesn't somebody ask her? Some poor sod has probably been visiting her for more than a quarter of a century. Talk about a thankless task, you'd need to bring a book along to relieve the monotony.
-
OoO has got her documented in his thread, http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?...ost&p=68468 There's not many that escape his eagle eye. Although he doesn't mention Sunny Von Bulow, former spouse of Claus. She's been in a persistent vegetative state for almost 26 years, how much longer can she last for?

Harold John Blackham a leading British Humanist and philosophical writer. He's 103 and certain to get a broadsheet obituary, a possible DDP punt.

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Tempus Fugit replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I have. It's not quite as good as Star Smashers of the Galaxy Rangers by Harry Harrison. At least one DL member has, or so he says. -

Bunker Man by Duncan McLean, a very dark novel. As you can see from the reviews on Amazon, some people love it while others absolutely hate it. -
The latter. Not as a loose term anyway. Comparing someone like Arnold, who was the last of the great British composers of his era, to some guy that shouted "tequila" in a pop song is like comparing William Shatner to Sir Laurence Olivier. Well both Shatner and Olivier are/were hams, personally I always thought Olivier a very overrated thesp. Gielgud was so much better.
