Time to bump everyone's favourite French Nazi Maurice Papon to the front. Poor Maurice hasn't been posted on for 11 months and it's his 96th birthday today. The only news I could find featuring the cuddly old Nazi was this BBC article, poor Maurice just gets a brief passing mention. Please let's stick him on the '07 list. Please pretty please.

The only two of The Comedians who are famous enough and likely to die in the near future are; Bernard Manning, not a well man at all, such a shame The other one is Frank Carson who'll be 80 in november, the others like Jim Bowen, Roy Walker, Tom O'Connor and Mike Reid are all a bit young really.

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists
Tempus Fugit replied to Stayin Alive's topic in DeathList Forum
Bob Mathias, two time Olympic gold medal winning Decathlete. A former Congressman who served four terms, his life story was made into a movie. Dead aged 75. -
After a bit of googling I think it was probably a 1983 episode of The Sky at Night. Patrick is one of those people who have looked pretty much the same for the last 20 years. I hope he makes it to the 50th anniversary of The Sky At Night, if he does he should get a peerage before he dies, Lord Moore of Selsey.

Dead in less than 12 weeks from diagnosis, poor sod. Still at least he got a BBC obituary

The return of the stats from their long soggiorne elsewhere has brought to my attention just how many new members are joining on a daily basis. I had a look: we've had sixty (sixty!) new members join in the past month - a multiplicitous twenty-six (twenty-six!!) in the past week alone! Where have they all come from? Where are they all going? And why, whilst here, are most of them not posting even though they've gone to the effort of joining? A sizeable chunk of that number are spammers, who join in order to start a thread advertising their dubious websites. Magere Hein quickly bans them. Oh, I see. But still... sixty!! I'm wrong the spammers who are banned don't show up on the members list, so the amount you refer to are genuine members. Buggered if I know why they don't post though.

Looks like Hornby may steam in and save the Airfix as the Times puts it. Isn't Airfix what Pete Doherty does on an Easyjet flight.

Except Keizo Miura.

Happy 91st birthday Meinhaardt I'll be raising a glass to you little guy.

Bob O'Connor the mayor of Pittsburgh has died aged 61.

I remember seeing the inside of that tower on an episode of Through the Keyhole, even back then Melly mentioned that he struggled to get up the stairs of the place. He's never been the fittest of individuals, I'm amazed that he manages to keep going. He seems determined to do a Cooper and die on stage, I'm sure that's the way he would want to go.

Lucy the world's 4th oldest captive African elephant has been euthanised. Pity the poor sod who has to dig that grave.

Yep he's the Orson Welles of fiction writing. He peaked so young and the rest was downhill. It must be a bugger trying to live up to your own reputation.

Well, she's done well to do it, ill or not ill. But, lets put its this way. This bike ride has taken a lot out of her, as it would anyone. If she is terminally ill (and 6 yrs ill too), then her death shouldn't be too long in coming 'cos she hasn't got anything else to aim for & her body is wrecked. Therefore she should die within 6 months. I bet she won't. Seriously - I'll make a bet on here, similiar to Millwall's Heath bet, that Jane Tomlinson will still be alive in 6 months from now (1 March 2007 - my birthday as it happens - how apt). If she is, I win nothing but my belief she is a fake is reaffirmed. If she does, well I won't do an Iain & leave, but I will happily eat humble pie and hang my head in shame. ie+, bless you for calling Mike Wank Wank. How about if you lose then Jane Tomlinson becomes your avatar for 3 months.

Yes then we'd have the delights of President Cheney. Now that is enough to scare the sh*t out of me.

As it seems likely that Allen Carr will be dead inside 9 months, by his own admission, then he really should have his own thread. From what other DeathList members have said he certainly seems notable enough for inclusion on the '07 list, providing he makes it to then of course. No doubt if he does he'll also be a favourite pick in the DDP, every deadpooler loves a terminal lung cancer pick.

George Johnson, probably California's last WWI veteran. Died aged 112.

He'll be back in panto in no time. You can't keep a good vegetable down.
-
He sounds like an irritating old git. Took up work again because he was bored... people like that really piss me off.
-
Good riddance, what a bloody cheek charging people to assemble their bits of tiny plastic crap into a larger piece of plastic crap. Only the sort of people who make models out of matchsticks are worse than keen airfix hobbyists.

The BBC news ticker is reporting Hogan has made a failed suicide attempt.

As a non-smoker I'd never heard of him, when I first heard the name Allen Carr I thought it was this camp fellow,
