    Claude Levi-Strauss

But don't you think it's better to die whilst still active and making contributions to the world, rather than as a dried up old has been that nobody except bored Deathlisters knows is still alive? I'm sure Hitler would agree with that, Or most dictators for that matter. They never relinquish control until they're dead, mostly because they are too paranoid to truly trust anyone else.

    The Deathlist Christmas Special!

My impression of the culture in which we live is that the Nominal Christians who run the place are happy to demote Christmas to "holidays" in order to include as many people as possible in the BIG SELL season. All other arguments are promoted as a smoke screen to this blatant prostitution of a significant religion. Some of the others have more self respect! Christianity is just a silly cult that was created around a Jewish dissident. It won't last you know.

It works just fine for me. You will have to bear the pain alone. But wait, Barry feels your pain too.

raider+Dec 11 2005, 11:51 PM--> QUOTE(Tom( raider @ Dec 11 2005, 11:51 PM) Twelve down, two more to go to beat the all time record! Would that be too much to ask for the next three weeks? Has any stats-freak monitored how many nominees tend to die in december? Two more to match the 2003 record, Three more to beat it. Fat chance.

Isn't that what happens to the loser in a game of Russian roulette.

I don't think there will be another DL success, but I voted anyway, for Byron Nelson. Some old golfer.

    (C)Rappers

Aren't all rappers supposed to be killed in a shooting at some point? Isn't it written in their contracts. Nothing could be more ridiculous than an OAP rapper, even more laughable than Mick Jaggers geriatric gyrating.

It shows a useful a sight like this can be for you people. Good for obit scheduling. I hope RP gets some good press. He lit up our lives (before he lit up his). Now you're using sight instead of site, Banshees doing it was more than enough thanks.

    Deathlist Forum Milestone

The site went online in late 1996 - but I have just realised the counter is badly flawed as it only records hits on the home page. The full site (including the forum) itself gets about 300,000 page views each month from about 40,000 unique visitors. 2005 so far for - 3.5 million page views from 481,000 unique visitors Those are impressive figures, it's good to know that DeathList is even more popular than the Site Meter indicates. I wonder how the numbers compare to the Royal Forums, perhaps Elspeth can enlighten us. This is the Royal Forums tracker thingy; I'm not sure if it's got the data you're looking for, but there do seem to be numbers of unique visitors and so on; it's just that I don't seen anything where the numbers have been tracked since the site opened. http://extremetracking.com/open?login=royalfor Some interesting figures there Elspeth, I'm surprised that The Royal Forums let people see this kind of detail. But as IP addresses can't be matched to users there's no harm I suppose. You average about 9000 unique visitors a day excluding reloads. Almost a third of your visitors are from the USA. You really do get visitors from all over the world, who would have thought royalty was so popular.

    Most Memorable Of Dl 2005.

That really is priceless, calling the Pope a matriarch. Your best mistake to date I'd say.

Not a mention of Richard Pryor, Banshees powers must be fading.

Not so much a near miss, as a direct hit.

    Richard Pryor

Goodbye Mr. Pryor. You certainly had the wilder gene. You were one of the least likely that I imagined would die this year. Congrats to the DeathList selection committee, choice well made.

    My Love Affair With Death

I'm expecting my demise to be very underwhelming. I really don't care if I die today or 50 years hence. All I hope is that it's quick and I don't linger. Futility is the watchword of the permanently jaded.

    The Deathlist Christmas Special!

And in the government buildings, the 'Christmas Tree' is now called a 'Holiday tree'. Put the Christmas tree isn't a Christian symbol, Like a lot of Christian traditions it originates from Pagan beliefs.

    Near Misses for 2005

It's funny how the U.K. oldest man and woman both die within 2 days of each other. Bugger, bugger and bugger, my DDP selections are dropping like flies, couldn't the selfish swine have waited a few weeks.

    Michael Jackson

The National inquirer are reporting that Jackson recently overdosed on Demerol and Jack Daniels. This is supported by an article here which says his family are concerned about his drug use. When you combine that with the fact he faces a $270 million foreclosure order of his assets in 2 weeks time, it could well push him to do the job properly next time.
