I suspect that George's fantastic will to live and the introduction of 24 hour drinking are not unconnected. He better croak it by the end of the year: I have a curry riding on this one.

Thanks for that information Swiss. The judgement of people who have recently seen future candidates is very important. I suppose the only better information is to get the full state of play from the candidate's doctor. That's not you is it?

All very interesting but how ill was he looking?

I am not a medical man so I was wondering if they could use his current liver for a transplant (assuming it is in reasonable condition of course). This may take him into the appropriately named Guinness Book of Records which I feel would be a fitting finale.

Being interested in astronomy, he is one of the few on the list that I would miss. Still, every cloud has a silver lining: if he dies before the end of the year I get a free curry out of it due to my work deathlist. I would imagine there will be plenty of puns when he dies. Perhaps I can kick them off with "Patrick no Moore". Not very good I know.

Check out this bloke.... Dick Crease BA FIA is a Senior Consultant who was previously Group Strategic Planning Manager and New Enterprises Manager of Eagle Star. In these roles he was responsible for the strategic evaluation of new ventures, business risks and potential acquisitions, as well as studies into distribution channels. Dick’s experience embraces both life assurance and general insurance. Since joining OAC in 1995 he developed the first of OAC’s information services for clients, and now leads the team of homeworkers assisting IFAs, providers, regulators and individual clients with all kinds of calculations including those for pensions work, endowment mortgage complaints, divorce and injury. How the winter evenings must just fly by. -
Do you think he will be "going straight" to heaven?

Well put by Cowboy Ronnie there. Contributors please note that lack of experience (as a very crude measure of understanding DL protocol) means that you are not worthy to contribute to DL on such matters. Hang on, there is some circular logic going on here! I have to admit that all I know of Mr Wiesenthal has come from minor comments over the years to which I paid little or no attention. Therefore, I am in no position to judge his greatness. I'll leave that to people more in the know. -

Has political correctness taken over the Deathlist site? Virtually everybody on the list is (was?) a significant person. And, when they go, we should be able, whilst bearing in mind the greatness of the person in question, to abstract ourselves from this and this always seems to have happened in the past. However, because this bloke was a Nazi Hunter everone appears to be treading very carefully. Anyway, I am curious as to how he died. Did he leave the gas on? -
I expect Gerry Adams is shedding a tear or two.
