    (C)Rappers

I remember Violator records. I wish I didn't. He does get a BBC obit, though. Violator Records... Weren't they responsible for 50 Cent and Fat Joe, and for allowing Swizz Beats to do something other than produce? Yeah, no tears shed for this dude.

    The Dead Of 2012

Sergei Sokolov, former Minister of Defense for the USSR and commander of the ground troops during the Invasion of Afghanistan, has died at the ripe old age of 101. No English obits yet, but he is a unique pick by theme team Twenty Tons of Fun? on the DDP.

I agree at this point in time (unless someone even bigger dies ) and anyone who says any different well they're notaguest. What about if Kerry Katona died. That is bound to be on the news channels all over the world :-) I have actually never heard of Kerry Katona being reported on here in the US. The only person that I think could overshadow Armstrong is Muhammad Ali. Or Carter and Bush Senior. Their deaths wouldn't be as momentous, only a leader like Mandela would get more coverage, or someone the level of Queen Elizabeth or the Pope Carter/Bush/Thatcher probably wouldn't be the same because at they are probably loved only by about half of their respective countries. If Bush died for example, the Republicans will be sad, the Democrats probably wouldn't care much, and everyone overseas wouldn't care that deeply at all. Armstrong is different because he was a hero not only to most Americans, but to all of the world. The only others I would say could come close would be the Queen, the Pope, Muhammad Ali, and maybe Nelson Mandela. There are others, such as Fidel Castro and Hosni Mubarak, who would be a bigger deal but would have nowhere near as much grief.

    Herman Wouk

Harper Lee has been reported to have deteriorated in recent years, being almost completely deaf and blind, and wheelchair-bound. And I don't remember hearing too much about Vidal's health in recent years.

    Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi

I put saif forward for this years deathlist but forgot to include him on my DDP d'oh . Still i think there is a more than 50% chance of him being executed next year rather than this year . But i don't think you can include people on death row on your DDP , though im not 100% sure on that. If I remember the DDP policy on death-row inmates correctly: -If you put the person on your team before the trial starts, and they are executed in the same day, you get points but no unnatural bonus points. -If the person is already sentenced to death, you can still put them on your team, but if they die by execution you get no points. Full points will be rewarded if they die of a disease/natural causes/suicide/murdered by other inmates. I forget the rules for if they're imprisoned, but not yet sentenced which is Gaddafi's case.

    Atheists

Personally I think this topic is already covered by the "Arrogant Academics" thread. The only people best described by the term atheist is Richard Dawson and a few like him. Hitchens and Vidal are dead, and Randi has his own thread. For the record, I am an atheist.

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic

Should definitely be on the 2013 list should he hold out till then I don't think he's DeathList material, but I would put him on a DDP team. He's maybe not as famous (or infamous) as, say, Mugabe, but his passing would be of major significance in Africa and would generate a lot of press coverage internationally True, but his health is too-rumor based for a spot in my opinion. Like Penny Marshall? Dead Curses. Foiled again.

Diller was always in the Borgnine camp of looking really good for her age. Granted it was due to extensive plastic surgery but it was enough to make most people think she was way younger.

    Ian Brady

he said he'd only do it when he was about to die.It looks as though this long ,sad saga is finally drawing to a close... I wonder who'll die first, Brady or Johnson? Perhaps another poll is in order...

CNN certainly thinks he's going to die, they've got a full 25-picture timeline up. I'm pretty sure everyone who has gotten the photo timeline treatment hasn't lasted a year before dying.

    Political Frailty

I was just about to post the same story. I'll definitely watch this, but don't be surprised if it's to cover something up. Jackson has been under scrutiny before. It's depession. http://www.foxnews.c...for-depression/ And for "gastrointestinal issues" apparently, which could be something to look into. We're definitely not getting the full story, but I don't think it's an addiction to something. Jackson's wife says that her husband is "still very depressed." Jackson has officially been diagnosed with bipolar depression, putting an end to the whole mystery.

Roger Slifer; co-creator of Lobo, once said that Rob Liefeld would only be allowed to write Lobo over his dead body. Now Liefeld has been confirmed to be writing a Lobo comic, and Slifer is in critical condition and in a coma after being hit by a car.
