Abu Yahya al-Libi, Al-Queda's most recent in a long line of second-in-commands, may be dead after a recent drone strike. -
Dead. And a Daily Mail obit means 2 teams on the DDP get points. RIP to her.

Turns out Loretta Lynn, country singer and minor DDP popular pick, was actually born in 1932, not 1935. Meaning she's worth one less DDP point if she goes. -

Croke clubs? New one on me... Reading that old news report is a walk down memory lane. "And if you hear the news Whitney Houston has died, you can be sure they'll be at least one person raising a glass for all the wrong reasons." Try 16.

What'd you reckon his chances of an obituary are? Pretty low, even in an American dead pool. Only Supreme Court judges get obits, and Reichbach would probably only get an obituary in local New York papers. -

1) Type the text you want to turn into a link. 2) Highlight the area. 3) Click the link button. It's underneath the Font Size adjuster. 4) Paste the link you want into the box that pops up. -
Princess Sattareh Farmanfarmaian of Persia has died aged 91. A unique hit for theme team Her Dead Highness, but so far not a single obituary in English let alone a major newspaper.

"He's dead, Jim." By the way, this is off-topic but there is a minor scandal brewing in the Star Trek camp because of the casting in the new film (currently in post-production). The film marks the return of Kirk's arch-nemesis, Khan Singh, who is meant to be an Indian/Asiatic genetically engineered superhuman. However, they have cast the very, very white English actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the role, so they are facing accusations of racism (so far confined to the web)... Examples: http://zoedangerawes...casting-as-khan http://www.thestuden...d.php?t=1987270 LOL - so Hollywood is less progressive now then it was in the 1960s. I wonder if they will just leave him white or try to tint his skin somehow with CGI? The latter has strong echoes of the old blackface minstrel shows, so they are damned either way. It will be interesting to see the reaction when this reaches the mainstream media. I don't think Ricardo Montalban was Asian or Indian either, so you can't argue a lack of progress here

You've all read the reports. Our number 2 and 3 picks for the 2012 Deathlist are circling the drain and are in all likelihood mere hours from death and unless one of the 90+ picks decides to give up the ghost in the next few ours it's looking like they will be the 3rd and 4th hits. Question is: Who will kick the bucket first? Will it be Gibb, whose multiple cancers and pneumonia have put him in a coma? Or will it be Megrahi, "breathing his last breath" and rapidly deteriorating?

I can never find those pesky AP/Guardian obits. I search in the Guardian and there's nothing there. What's the secret? I literally just searched "Peter Breck the guardian". I thought it was weird he didn't get a obit.

http://www.guardian....rticle/10087729 Obit for Peter Breck, courtesy of the Guardian. Also; here's a picture of Ronald Washington to use, if you can.

Seems to think he'll make it to 100. Given some of the things said in the interview, I believe him.

Two tiny things to fix: 1) A while back I complained that my theme team featured the killer of Jam Master Jay, not the baseball player Ronald Washington. You fixed that, but now the picture is of the wrong Ronald Washington. 2) The most recent update says Gibb is worth 6 pts. (12 for jokers). Gibb should be worth the same amount as al-Megrahi, as he was 62 not 82. As far as I can tell the scores are all right though, so it's only on the front page that's wrong. Glad to see I'm now in the Top 20 .
-
Also, while I recognize the obviousness of a Staying Alive pun, I think "Gibbing up the Ghost" or "Robin the Grave" would be much more original.
-
I'd argue Whitney Houston or Davy Jones are bigger deaths. Dick Clark was also pretty big, but not in the UK I believe.
