To my shame I wouldn't like to be quizzed on why any of the following were famous (I feel Beverly Cleary is the most embarrassing but right now I don't know (maybe a singer?)) and the list of people whose current health status I know nothing about is even more extensive. Beverly Cleary, Norman Lloyd, I M Pei, Katherine Johnson, Lucia Hiriart, Bob Barker, John Paul Stevens, Norman Lear, Al Jaffee, Luis Escheverria, John Cruickshank, Hugh Downs, George Shultz, Carl Reiner, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Don Lusk, Kane Tanaka So 17 names out of 60 and to be honest the list would be twice as long if I just arrived here - there is another list as follows of people I only know who they are because they are known to be dying soon/very ill Greg Gilbert, Devin Lima, Simon Ricketts, Le Duc Anh, Genesis P-Orridge, Jose Jose, Sumner Redstone, Dilip Kumar, Ric Flair, Richard A. Overton, Roberta McCain, Sacheen Littlefeather. A further 12 names. So 29 out of 60 I wouldn't have a clue who they were if I had just landed on the site.

If I google 'Renaud cirrhosis' I get nothing about the singer Renaud so I'm guessing he is French specific and would not get a QO for the major UK Dead Pools?
-
What does asterisk mean? Also bad news recently if you are a former Aston Villa player and a bit disgraceful if you are a BBC presenter and they can't even give you a QO!

Well when he was at Chelsea he could never remember the team he'd picked the week before!

'.....the public poured their hearts out to a host of celebrities when the stars took over a call centre. Famous faces also including Countdown’s Rachel Riley...' Wouldn't be the first time that Rachel Riley has helped men release a few built up stresses and tensions. -
Yes I thought about posting 'OH YAY, OH YAY JOHN KEY, JOHN KEY DENIS NORDEN HAS DIED'

If the choice is Boris, Mogg, Gove, Hunt or May continuing then if I was Ruth Davidson and I had leadership aspirations I'd be feeling pretty smug right now - busying herself up in Scotland keeping as far away from anything to do with the EU as possible and just waiting.............................................. -

Yes - with such divisions in Conservative party it couldn't have made it any more divided and might have suspended leadership and political point scoring. Yes but I find it hard to care - we are crying out for a great leader who is motivated by principles and not by power. I'm not sure I care what the principles are any more. (PS This is not Jeremy Corbyn - he fails the first part). -

Just a more orderly transition and, naively I guess, a more unified approach from the UK based on the actual vote result. With hindsight I think a mandate for change was needed so it should have required a 60:40 vote (although obviously any vote over 50% would have caused issues with the status quo it may have given momentum for change within the EU without us actually having to leave). Post referendum a mature political approach was required on all sides so media blackout on discussions only releasing agreed items, no pressure internally in each country from media or political parties for negotiating positions (unrealistic I know), a more unified approach generally to the exit from all sides. Instead it became very vitriolic from Europe and within UK and within Conservative party and this has just led us to where we are today - like I said - too many people trying to score a 'win' for short term gain rather than looking to secure the people a workable solution - the long term win. Brexit created a problem for all of Europe including the UK and it required a unified approach to sort it out with concessions from both sides but everyone working towards a solution - it doesn't feel that has happened - it feels like both sides have looked for their own ideal solution individually and then clashed publicly when they are not the same. -

I voted to leave (although I was disappointed by the debate so never got a chance to form an opinion on a lot of things I would have liked more information on) I just felt that there were too many levels of governance and layer upon layer of politicians etc. However I didn't anticipate the absolute cluster fuck of an embarrassment that both sides would make by trying to 'win' the exit and foolishly expected us to be about to leave now in an orderly fashion with the major terms of the agreement in place. The company I work for imports goods from outside EU and then exports to Europe - it is now starting to look like there may be jobs at risk that should never have been at risk had things been sorted out in a sensible fashion. Honestly I don't hold my vote responsible for that - we should be able to vote for a change and expect it to be handled in a reasonable way by the people who are elected to look after the people's interests (on both sides). -
On film? Not sure where to post this but there is a film out today where (*SPOILER ALERT*) you can go and watch 4 people take their final breaths.

Come the final deal everyone is going to be unhappy about it so only then will everyone finally be united in wanting an Exit from the Brexit Deal. If they had the same stupid simple vote in April next year along the lines of Do you want to exit the Brexit deal that has been agreed? Yes or No Then Yes would win by miles and then we could have Exitbrexit for the next few years. -

Death of first woman to run a 5 minute mile. Diane Leather at 85. She ran the sub 5 minute mile just 23 days after Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile for men (both May 1954) and has now died in the same year. At the time she ran the sub 5 minute mile the distance was not run by women at the Olympics, the furthest they were allowed to race over was 200m until 1960. Women's running has come a long way since then in terms of times and equality.

Ahhh she was lovely - like Kylie before she became cool. I hope the news is a little more positive for her than we are all expecting and the 'excitement' above seems a bit OTT.
