Former politician Lord Roy Mason is worth consideration for next year. He's currently quite ill in a Barnsley hospital, although the media don't seem to have picked up on it. He'll be 84 in April.

Physically, he looked good for a few more years. Our best chance is for him to forget what a bus is and walk in front of one. I have no doubt that Suharto is a dead cert for 2008, but he could well linger for a while yet.....
