    COVID 19 - Second Wave

How long does it take to get the vaccine and get out to make way for the next one? I got my B12 injection on Monday and the turnaround between patients was 10 minutes, that is from me getting called in to me leaving the waiting room just as the next person was being called in, it was the same for the patient in front of me. Working on this time scale, I would suggest that that one nurse/phlebotomist could do about 5 patients an hour and with a 15 minute break every 2 hours I am suggesting that they could possibly do 35 injections a day.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

My GP surgery is estimating the start of vaccine jags to be end of January with 80+ year olds being first in line, that is if they get the supply of the vaccine they have been told they are getting. I should get mine in the fourth wave so sometime about the middle of NEXT year.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis

I should not let this annoy me but it does anyway. On telling a nieghbour that one of the headlights on his car was not working his reply was "I know, you are the third person to tell me in the last month" I should have told him to 'fix the bloody thing them' but I just walked home with steam coming out of my ears.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

I have been talking about restricting international travel since last April but nobody listened to me then but now all of a sudden an expert says the same thing and she gets a spot on the BBC.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

With my lot, you have to fill in an online form then sit at home waiting for a phone call from whoever the person reading the form decides who you should speak to and then you have to convince them that you need to see a doctor or get the prescription you need. It could be a doctor that calls you but that doesn't mean that you will get a consultation, it just means that you need to convince the doctor to make an appointment with a doctor. By the way, don't ever phone the surgery directly to make an appointment, they get really snarky with you.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

The staff at my health centre are sitting twiddling their thumbs as no patients are getting allowed in the door so don't tell me there are no staff to do the job.

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

I currently have a head cold and all the crap that goes with it. I am also due a vitamin B12 injection next week so I am having some of the ailments that go with a shortage of that, I always get them just before the injection is due. Put the two together and some folk may think that they need a test for covid but it has never even occurred to me to ask for one. The cold will run it's course and I will feel better a day after I get my B12 injection.

We are getting rain falling onto frozen ground making it a nightmare to walk anywhere, the rain is just not warm enough to melt the ice.

It was not done during the AIDS beginnings so I don't see it being done now and by the time they get to the ding-dong session fluids will have already been exchanged.

    Doctor Who

Must be great to have one of them handy but then if I had one handy at first screening I might not have missed it then and as I did not see your post until 5 hours after second screening then that was a bit of information that I did not need but thanks anyway.

    Room 101

This makes no sense to me at all, there has been no ice on the roads for 3 days but the gritters have been operating for the last 5 days, the health centre is closed for the holiday since Thursday but the gritters have been doing the carpark and footpaths round it every day since then. The footpaths in the area are covered in ice but no sign of a gritter round them.

I wear a shield/visor when I take the car but it is not an easy thing to carry when walking to the shop so I carry and wear a mask.

Missed it yesterday, I was not even aware that it was on, will there be a repeat at any point soon?

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

Do we still need to wear facemasks in shops? Half the folk the go into shops either don't wear a mask or don't wear it correctly and with the speed that this new variant is going through the population, masks don't seem to be slowing it down any.
