It has frequently been said that Lineker could earn more at a rival broadcast ( remember that Jeff Stelling has been trying to retire for two years) we only know what he is paid because he works for the BBC. Apparently the episode was only ever intended to be on iplayer which is still will be. My feeling about the Stop the Boats campaign is that the Tories do not expect to be able to do it but want to portray Labour as being 'weak' in this area particularly with Red Wall voters.
