  4. If everyone down voted the bottom 4 we would still need 21 more players to put their votes in. I haven't been monitoring how many people vote each day
  5. Considering my complaints about lack of female vocalists in the early rounds they seem to have done quite well

    Scavenger Hunt Bingo Deadpool V

Eleven entries are now in and are all verified. From tomorrow I will be largely away from my spreadsheets and notes so verification might have to wait until I get back but the game will begin on Jan 1 and every player who DMs me a team before then will be included

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

If it is your own personal shadow list then you can be your own judge but if you are entering it into one of the competition the game runner will advise on eligibility. Expecting to get an English language obituary is the usual criteria
  16. I am as guilty as anyone about making spurious lists but I think what people are looking for is that the list have some specific point to them or that they introduce some new information. I hope that helps

    The World of the Snowflake

If you did that you would get into all kinds of difficulties: Which version of Winter Wonderland or Santa Baby* do you include? *If the answer is anything other than Kylie or Eartha Kitt then it is wrong

    The World of the Snowflake

The song was written very quickly and from a place of great anger A little more reflection might have considered what the exact message was but it did raise a huge amount of cash and generated a global movement and one of the biggest cultural touchstones of the eighties
  19. Number ones tend to fall into two categories The flavour of the month category which sees multiple No.1s just because they are extremely popular at that moment in time the songs from Grease would fit into this category and then you have stand out songs that capture the imagination. The three you mentioned all belong in this category. They all stood out from everything else around and often established the artist reputation for the future. There is an element of ubiquity about some of these tracks but that should not take away how impressive they are musically.

    King Charles III

They have just published images of the bank notes that will feature Charles on them However they are not entering Circulation until 2024. Optimism at work
  24. On Twitter someone did a series of polls for the best album of 1978 though it was done by polls of tracks from the album playing off against each other and the 'Manager' for the album selected the tracks. My nomination was The Kick Inside by Kate Bush and it managed to get through to the final when it fell to Parallel Lines which I think was understandable

    Elon Musk

I was tempted to vote that he should stay because it seemed potentially like he was trying to get someone else to fix his mess
