I meant 2024. Sorry

I did wonder whether he was keeping his powder dry for a big job elsewhere (how long as Stoltenberg got to go at NATO) or he is looking towards the Conservative defeat in 2023 and thinks that would be his time

To be honest what myself, YW or TQR want will probably play little part in the decision making process but if they pick someone bat shit crazy it makes Starmer's job much easier as his Tory lite act can continue to work. Someone like Tugendhat will move his tanks onto Starmers lawn which means he might have to start working harder to keep the votes on the left of the party that might end up going to the Greens or even LDs if Europe is most important to them

Unfortunately the MP's voting round is when I am on holiday so it will be interesting to see what happens. Sir Charles Walker has already said he hopes some of the without a chance brigade think again to streamline the process
-
At the moment I am saying Wallace. However many names on that list won't even make the first MPs ballot. So I will give a more reasoned commentary when the nominations close

Larry Storch brings me up to 11 (QO dependent)
-
I am not starting the new round until there is a QO I am fairly certain this is correct but I am waiting for confirmation @Grimgrass
-
Not seen anything that looks like a QO yet
-
Larry Storch is a hit here for @ajlposh lots of people off the starting blocks now
-
I think the prospect of either Ben Wallace or Tom Tugendhat facing Kier Starmer at PMQs would hopefully bring the level of debate up to a much higher level. I worry that the influx of UKIP types into the Conservative party means that we don't get that when the choice comes down to just two
-
Yes James Caan is a hit for @TQR, @Spade_Cooley and @gcreptile The versatility of the gentleman is clearly on display as we have a family favourite, WWII Classic and Full on comedy Still noone on two hits yet
-
I am slightly concerned that Penny Morduant will turn out to be this leadership elections Andrea Leadsom. As far as I can tell she has never been genuinely tested but she might play well with the traditional Tory membership. Not sure she will make it to the final two unless she can build some alliances
-
That is where the surprises will come from. Who chooses to support whom.
-
I think it will be a pretty crowded field initially but as we go through it would be interesting to see the order in which they are eliminated and who they throw their support behind once they go Only two names go to the party membership but it will be interesting to see which ones they are

Iain Duncan-Smith was a relative no-one but at the time the ABC strategy was applied

This is the difficult bit: There are going to be so many hats going into the ring but in getting to a victory for each one will require a balancing act to get through the two stages I think Liz Truss must be favourite because she has seemed to come through this shambles unscathed but it is so obvious she wants the job (even though the evidence is that it is beyond her capabilities) Tom Tugendhadt & Tobias Ellwood will slug it out for the One Nation side of the vote but considering the 2019 intake are almost all pro-brexiteers they might struggle to get on the ballot that goes to the Tory Members. They might do better with the MPs who would face a challenge from the LDs at the next election. Jeremy Hunt is a possibility and he came close in 2019 and I would not rule out Michael Gove but he really does come across as a double-crossing coke headed waste of flesh which even his friends (if he had any) would struggle to contradict. Sunak, Patel, Zadhawi or Javid might get on the final ballot but will they appeal to the blue rinse walking corpses that are the Tory Membership?

Oh this doesn't look good Last year my wife put all her vinyl Mike Nesmith albums on ebay and in the past week I have put about a dozen volumes of Yu-gi-oh! original magnas on ebay Now do I have Norman Tebbit's autobiography?
