I see I am missing a sub so Julie Goodyear can go in but I also note that my number 11 pick Margaret Stuart Barry was dead when the game began. Obviously she will not score but can I replace her? If the answer is yes then Tom Baker will go to the bottom of my subs list

Kill or Save: UK No.2 Hits of the 60s

The negative reacts are really random. If I come on and there have been lots of posts I am not going to negative react every single one of them but if I just happen to see one that frustrates me because I thought progress was being made then you might get it. In addition SC and TQR have made their intentions fairly clear so the chances of influencing them are fairly slim. The negative reactions are more like shorthand comments - essentially I disagree with you without actually saying that in a separate comment. If you voted something I liked you would probably get the positive react. It is just another way of showing engagement with the game. I do think that there is a lot of Beatles negativity which in my opinion is undeserved. However, the way the game works is that we all have equal votes so you express yours and I will express mine and we comment accordingly -

It is a terrible thing to admit that almost all my knowledge of the songs that have featured in the Sixties polls come from listening to Jimmy Saville's Double Top Ten show on Radio 1 on Sunday Lunchtime as a kid -

I have a vinyl copy of The Legend of Xanadu which I bought when I was a student (late eighties) so it still was something that I thought I wanted to own but that might be the exception in their output. It has become apparent across this game that there are songs that escape their time and enter into the cultural race memory whereas there are those that might have been incredibly successful at the time but a trapped in the amber of cultural moment. -

@RoverAndOut only has one out as his other four are shared between the other players who need a Brit winner. However another hit in any category would see him steal Shirley Bassey and Zubin Metha from @msc 1. Marc Almond (da) 2. Adam Ant (ms) 3. Thelma Barlow (bp) 4. Shirley Bassey (ms) (ro) 5. Victoria Beckham (da) 6. Melanie Chisholm (da) 7. Vince Clarke (gr) 8. Phil Collins (sc) (gr, ms, af, ro) 9. Beverly Craven (af) 10. Randy Crawford (gr) 11. Anne Cunningham (bp) 12. Can't vote against Val as one of the few albums we had growing up was Val Doonican - a big favourite of my Mum (Can't vote for him either...) -

Two of these are still on my regular playlist including Penny Lane which is probably in my Beatles Top 5 -

Joint top pick in the Oscars category gives fourteen players a boost including a first hit for @MortalCaso but the big winner from this is @An Fear Beag who moves into a winning position just needing a Brit winner to complete one in each category

For me this is really exciting. This game normally passes by with my team untouched and here I am in the Top 5 (for now)

Just been on my first cinema trip of 2024 and it was the absolutely fantastic Wonka. It is pure joy an almost perfect family film. It takes nothing away from the Roald Dahl books and should leave you with a smile on your face. -

What is his actual problem? Is it that the supermarkets have chosen to fill their shelves with goods people will need to buy (and being able to buy them in advance will help with those people strapped for cash - everybody)? Or maybe the free availability of Easter eggs means that the pre-election Culture rant that the Greens/Lefties/Muslims/Tom Nook/LGBT Community have stopped all the God fearing Christians from celebrating Easter? Or is he just uncomfortable with a story in which a bearded do-gooder with lots of follows, who is betrayed by his own side is given New Life ("for heaven's sake even the initials are the same")?
