Considering that Holmes is providing his 'truth' to GB News an outlet that struggles with that concept I am highly sceptical and I also do not think he is an impartial commentator as his wife's show is clearly caught up in the ITV shit storm
-
In this vicious war between ITV daytime presenters Holly Willoughby, Philip Schofield and Eamonn Holmes it is difficult to know who to cheer for but I vaguely remember a discussion on here about how PS achieved his career breakthroughs and one could argue that he is just acting on how the industry works. I am also confused why this is news now as I thought that when he came out the relationship was revealed what has happened since to make this suddenly so important
-
I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020

Any chance you can direct some of that energy to the Scavvy Hunt - things are very slow there -

As no list has yet reached 25 I think that is a pretty academic question

If it were Yellow Submarine without Eleanor Rigby I would probably be voting for Paperback Writer -

Whilst there is still time I am going to write a defence of Eleanor Rigby/Yellow Submarine. It demonstrates the breadth of The Beatles output. Yes, Yellow Submarine has novelty value and musically Ringo's voice is wanting but it suits the song perfectly. Growing up in the early seventies I do not remember the first time I heard this but I do not remember not knowing it. On the other hand Eleanor Rigby is an intimate piece of urban folk where Paul's delicate vocals are highlighted by the pitch perfect orchestration which George Martin brings -

If we were going to have two in the final round for me it was going to be Beatles>Kinks>Stones But at least I'll have something to downvote in the final. Also preferred Tired of Waiting to You Really Got Me -

I think today's coverage is to mark the 50th Anniversary of the broadcast of the first episode of That's Life so it is background information rather than new revelations

Updated Graph for Tina Turner An hit within the next four weeks will put 2023 as the third best performing year at this stage behind 2008 and 2020 However 2021 has a 140 day gap between 7th & 8th hits

I am going to say Tina was a good call by the committee. Not on the Crowdsourced, not on the Drop 40 Good judgement or extremely lucky

I actually forgot she was on the damn list
-
You were absolutely right to do so. As soon as I had posted I had twinges but in cases where you have hits in rapid succession such as Leslie Phillips and Bill Treacher the order they are announced may not be the exact order they occurred and I allowed both of those. The fast nature of the poll also means there is pressure to start a new round The woes of a game runner
-
I have been struggling with this all night trying to work out what is fair and what is not. The nature of this game is quite cut throat and it is dependent on rapid release of obituaries. However it was my mistake to award the points and rush to open a new round so I have decided to let the hit stand but with the warning that future hits may need more scrutiny and I will tighten the rules for 2024 to hopefully be better reflected. Apologies to any players who may have been impacted by this.
