I think it is naïve of us to assume that any of us will still be around to witness the demise of Dame Floella Benjamin

Kill or Save: UK No.1-hits of the 90s

For me I am not surprised at TT no doing well in the competition format. Without going into the merits of the individual tracks they are here because they are Take That not because of the track quality. Later some might do better and I imagine Robbie Williams solo stuff might be better received but at the moment they are being treated as an overhyped boy band. I imagine the same (possibly even harsher) treatment will be dealt out to Boyzone and Westlife.

Nine are on my regular players. Though it probably has something to do with my Brother-in-law randomly buying me Now 1992 one birthday

The original concept of Mr Blobby was quite funny. Celebrities thought they were part of a new kids show where they would inform the loveable character about their specialist subject but when it came to the take Mr Blobby would cause chaos. The original segment with Garth Crooks trying to explain the offside rule is probably the best example. There was a wonderful moment a couple of years later at a Test Match where Richie Beneau saw a member of the crowd in a Mr Blobby costume and was clearly nonplussed and described him as "somesort of egg man" My dear late Mother-in-law thought Mr Blobby was great and even knitted Mr Blobbies for her Grandchildren

Which KoS should be played next?

I see that the line up for Eurovision 2023 is complete. We could do a predict the result KoS using the semi final format of the actual content. We would all be coming in blind so might throw up some interesting results. Might be worth giving people 48 hours notice of the line up to listen to the songs Just a thought

Congratulations @Summer in Transylvania who is now joint leader on 3 hits. However, I will remind players that the next round should not start until an English language obituary/news article appears. I am letting this one go as my wording in the rules was sloppy but this will be tightened up going forward.

    Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

It has frequently been said that Lineker could earn more at a rival broadcast ( remember that Jeff Stelling has been trying to retire for two years) we only know what he is paid because he works for the BBC. As soon as he goes the same voices will be saying that the BBC cannot attract quality talent. This is pure distraction. The question should be Why is the current Tory party so vile?

    Sir David Attenborough

Apparently the episode was only ever intended to be on iplayer which is still will be. It has been sponsored by WWF & Greenpeace so might not meet editorial requirements for TV broadcast anyway However the fact that everyone's first thought is that those Tory biased fuckers at the BBC have got in the way goes a long way to showing what the problem is
