Would You Qualify For A 'hit', In Pool Terms?
Perfect Passing replied to charon's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
There will be no DDP points for me & no orbit either! I will do well if I got a mention in our house never mind in the press, the wife, the teenage kid & the cooking fat are all ahead of me in this life cycle! Regards PP -
The big guy is back on the road again this year, touring the UK with his 'Last At Bat Tour' Quoted from www.meatloaf.net "This series of incredibly special dates will see the singer perform a two-act show. The first act will include some of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits such as ‘Dead Ringer For Love’ and ‘I’d Lie For You (And That’s the Truth)’. The second act will be the classic debut album ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ – with all 7 songs performed in their original order." The Pavarotti of Rock is given us the impression that he ain't due on our list just yet folks!!

I'm currently gunslinging my way through Red Dead Redemption and find myself quite good at being a cold blooded, selfish loner/drifter type. Ohhhh to be a cowboy....instead of a bloody Sales Rep!!- 113 replies

We are now down to our very last 30 living & verified Victorians! 13 have dropped in the last 18 weeks, November saw 5 of them off. 2013 could be the year we see single figures.

Good point LFN, had to stop all that, as the wife kept catching me! What's the chances of a new thread entitled "Watched Any Quality Porn Recently?"- 113 replies

Currently playing Medal of Honour Black Ops, but I am absolutely rubbish at it! I adore the Grand Theft Auto series on PS2 & PS3, but have never got to 100% completion on any of them, due to lack of commitment. Just purchased GTA Vice City for iPad for £2.99 (what a steal), paid £30 quid for that on PS2 when it 1st came out!- 113 replies

Happy New Year to you all from Yorkshcestershire!
-
He claimed he had about 18 months, think he'll hang in there for a bit By my calculations then, there are 12 months in a calendar year, right, so that means that the Death List committee have well and truly messed up by being a year early with his inclusion. Maybe they should have "calmed down dear" Do you see what I did their? Regards PP
-
Zsa Zsa for sure.
-
Mandela, if he can hang on in there!
-
I think he's to the right of the guy with the bow & arrow, who is just below the fair maiden in the middle tent opening! What do I win? I love finding games, I do!
-
Mandela back in hospital in Pretoria, for tests deemed to be "routine and aged related"
-
Happy Birthday to Grace Jones, 113 Yesterday!!
-
Got to be a death to eclipse them all for the year (with the exception of Clive Dunn). Gone for the one & only.........Nelson Mandela.
-
May I suggest that the person that insisted Dunn be on the list year after year be the new number 50? Our very own GR! Which then begs the questions: - How old are you GR? What is your current health status? And can you change your own rules so that an obit is not required for the now very special number 50? Regards PP

2013 will be their last fling as a DDP theme team, then. Assuming the remaining lads go first, I may bag twenty of the lasses and go for all out bad-taste by naming my 20 "The Pussy Perishes Last" whaddya reckon? That's OK, but a warning that some of these old-timers don't seem to get the requisite British obit (see Violet Wood)... Aye, fair point re Wood but I'm thinking the point of a team full of such lowly scorers wouldn't be to win, it would be to set a DDP record with 20 deaths inside the one calendar year. The impossible dream... With all of the good will, from all Death Listers around the globe, in pursuit of your record attempt, be strong comrade and remember, "He who dares to dream, wins!" Or summat like dis!

I'm going for Biggsy! Which would nicely cap off what I'm sure many would regard as a vintage year for DL. My head tells me Zsa Zsa, but she has let me down twice too many times this year!

Yeah DJL, thanks for the links, not sure what would be in the musical or indeed left out! This is the web address to register an interest in the upcomong musical, but like I said this has been on line for about three years now without further progress. www.batoutofhellthemusical.com I wonder if Neverland will indeed be part of the musical? or is the musical? Although you'd think if he's been writing it since his college days it should be some where near bloody finished by now! LOL. Cheers. Further info from someone in the theatre industry that wonders if the musical will ever see 'the light of day' http://www.headtheatre.blogspot.co.uk/2010/03/meatloaf-bat-out-of-hell-musical-is-it.html

I think the operative phrase there is "a few years back". Quite right T, 8 shows a week on the west end is a young man's game, besides Meat Loaf probably prefers to keep on playing golf with Alice Cooper, than making Steinman his next million!

Nobody 'wishes' him dead. I think Jim Steinman did, for a while. No I think that was just part of Mr Steinman's project to turn all music he is involved with into a bland, lifeless, sameness that just sounds like you died and went to musical hell. A hell where there is no hope of life ever returning to the form, while excitement is in future to be released in carefully controlled amounts that allow for a slow fading into a dead banality of sameness never to be revived . . . . oops . . . sorry got carried away there! Best regards Syd I used to like Jimmy's music when I was a kid but if you try to listen to a series of his albums in sequence (such as the three Bats, Bad for Good and Dead Ringer), it does all start to sound the same fairly quickly. Bat 2 has dated particularly badly now with all of its synths. Speaking of Jim, though, how is he healthwise these days? I saw him on a doco a few years ago and he had become almost as obese as Loaf himself had been in his heyday. I also read somewhere that he had had heart problems and is a very unusual guy, being a bit of a recluse, works all night and sleeps all day, has never learned to drive (despite writing all of those songs about motorbikes and sex in the back of cars) and so on. Most of the songs on Bat Out Of Hell II are re-works from the Bad for Good album, that Meat refused to work on after the huge success of Bat Out Of Hell. I reckon Meat will be around for a little while yet, I think the whole health scares thing with him is all part of the Meat Loaf publicity wagon clocking up more mileage. As for Steinman, he is currently working on 'Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical' for the west end and has been doing so for what seems like an age. I personally like all the Bat albums and would like to see it. It's got to be better than Billy 'look at me I can dance and I'm from up north' Elliott. Steinman told Rolling Stone Magazine a few years back that Meat Loaf is the only person that can sing his songs just how he intended them to be, which begs the question will Meat bag the lead role in the musical? although I suspect that could be a stretch for the big man.

I think this will only be resolved by finding someone alive they can pin some real charges on and then get a trial. Wouldn't it be good if Paul Gadd found it in himself to tell the whole truth about his life and everything that went on - assuming he can remember it all. I agree with you Bibliogryphon, this will end with somebody from the 60's or 70's being charged or Jonathan King suffering from a huge bout of clarity and beating off Gadd in the Confesions of Child Abuser stakes.

Aye thats the one I posted a link to the day before the shit hit, from Asdas it was £40. Link was taken down the following day unsurprisingly..... £40 from Asdas? Amazon now at £27.94! and you can buy a jumbo gold ring for the smaller adder price of £3.19!! WOW. I reckon if we hold on until nearer Halloween and the way the JS story keeps rolling, they may be given them away by then!
