My joker is as usual a TT racer, and he lives locally. Assuming he lasts until midnight, that is! He's since moved to another pub.

I'm probably the only entrant to be spending at least some of this evening in the same pub as their joker.

Submitted my teams - a standard team and a theme team. I had no luck finding enough living participants for the other list ideas I had.

I've put my main list together, but I'll wait a day or two before submitting, just in case another suitable candidate appears in the meantime. I've still got to work on my theme teams. The jazz one is almost complete, I just need a few more picks and reserves who should at a QO - not too obscure, then. I've a couple of ideas for other teams, but I'm having problems finding 20 suitable entries for either.

Well, after a brief look I can't quite make a list of 20 survivors, coming a few short, although there's a few connected obscure people who may still be around whose status I can't ascertain. But as they certainly won't receive a suitable qualifying obit, there's no point me listing them. And that's assuming one of the picks makes it to 2025, as they looked awful in the latest photo of them that I've seen.

I've just realised that three members of my shortlist have something in common. I may put them on a theme team devoted to this connection instead, then, but I'm not certain if there's enough people left to make a full team of 20. Better get researching, as there's a few members I can't name.

He was one of those comedians who would usually appear as a panellist on something like Blankety Blank or Punchlines, and who would also turn up on light entertainment shows to do a short comedy routine. I don't think he ever had a show of his own.

I've cut my DDP shortlist down to about 40 entries, not counting those on my current list that I'll carry over. One selection I may add is for someone who may be taking up a dangerous hobby next year. They dabbled with it briefly in the past, but as their circumstances have since changed, they now have more time free to dedicate to it. They've passed on some cryptic comments in one interview which could be construed to relate to this new hobby, but it may relate to something else they've got planned for next year. If I play them and it doesn't go ahead, then it's a wasted pick. Another pick is of someone who looked absolutely terrible in a photo taken at an event earlier this year - but they seemed fine in the official photo that emerged from the same session. I've not come across any more recent photos at all. They've not been mentioned here at all. A couple of other picks may have already passed on - I'm waiting on some end-of-year obituary lists to appear.

Last night I dreamt that a certain celebrity nonce was shot dead whilst dining at a pavement café in central London by the father of one of their victims. Now, do I put them on my DDP short list for next year? There's just one problem - they're currently in jail, and there's little chance of them being free before the end of next year.
