Most teams played their cards right by not penciling Sir Bruce Forsyth into their pack. For the 9 teams that did have him, whether higher or lower, it will not be nice to see the below scoreboard, to see the below scoreboard it will not be nice. Drol strictly maintains his lead at the top of the scoreboard, isn't he doing well? Here are the scores! 1st - Drol - 7 points =2nd - Dr_T - 22 points =2nd - The Unknown Man - 22 points 4th - CaptainChorizo - 25 points =5th - Bert Trautmann - 30 points =5th - Garn2 - 30 points =5th - Grim Up North - 30 points =8th - Book - 31 points =8th - Morbidkid - 31 points 10th - gcreptile - 33 points 11th - GraveDanger - 34 points =12th - msc - 35 points =12th - YoungWillz - 35 points 14th - Bibliogryphon - 36 points 15th - RadGuy - 40 points 16th - Death Impends - 41 points 17th - Shaun of the Dead - 42 points 18th - Toast - 44 points =19th - CharonsCrew - 48 points =19th - WednesdayAddams - 48 points 21st - rockhopperpenguin - 51 points 22nd - Pedro67 - 54 points 23rd- Deathray - 59 points =24th - Joeyruss - 63 points =24th - Switch - 63 points 26th - esher - 67 points =27th - Angels - 77 points =27th - Dead Cow - 77 points

Many of you curmudgeons may have noticed that it's that time of year when the godawful British media report A-level results day with a deliberate focus on the high-achievers in an attempt to make the average student feel like dirt. Well, whilst I'm not one of those high-achievers, I'm pleased to say that I did get into my university of choice, that is the University of Stirling, and will be studying Philosophy there over the course of the next four years. In the meantime, I can celebrate the opportunity of leaving my dull and uninspired life behind and making some friends and enjoying myself for a change. -
Alright, I may have been talking bollocks. The behaviours of that search engine seem to elude most of us here, myself included. Sometimes it seems to work perfectly, whilst other times it decides to be awkward and consequently make you look like a right numpty. Anyhow, I wouldn't worry too much about these things, as long as you've made some effort to look beforehand, which you obviously did.

You've got to use quotation marks when searching for thread titles, otherwise the search engine only looks at the posts within the thread and not the thread title itself. As you can see, none of the posts that were in the old Maggie Smith thread actually mentioned her name, hence why you couldn't find her thread. So in future, make sure to place quotation marks around your search terms whenever you're trying to find out if a person already has their own thread.

As a matter of fact...

As we say Adios to Glen Campbell, five teams score points for keeping him ever gentle on their teams. As such, the scoreboard has been affected, but for now Drol maintains his lead. Will that be the case by the time we get to the year's end? Or is Drol still on the line? Here are the scores! 1st - Drol - 7 points 2nd - The Unknown Man - 12 points 3rd - Grim Up North - 18 points 4th - Dr_T - 22 points 5th - CaptainChorizo - 24 points =6th - Bert Trautmann - 30 points =6th - Garn2 - 30 points =8th - Book - 31 points =8th - Morbidkid - 31 points 10th - msc - 32 points 11th - gcreptile - 33 points 12th - GraveDanger - 34 points 13th - YoungWillz - 35 points =14th - Bibliogryphon - 36 points =14th - Shaun of the Dead - 36 points 16th - RadGuy - 40 points 17th - Death Impends - 41 points 18th - Toast - 44 points 19th - Pedro67 - 45 points 20th - CharonsCrew - 47 points 21st - WednesdayAddams - 48 points 22nd - rockhopperpenguin - 51 points 23rd - Switch - 55 points 24th - Dead Cow - 58 points 25th - Deathray - 59 points 26th - Joeyruss - 63 points 27th - esher - 67 points 28th - Angels - 77 points

Right, um, no. I'll replace no longer comatose boxers David Whittom and Daniel Franco with Ami Brown and Matt Callander respectively. Whilst the void left by Wraw's demise can be filled by Phil Oakey. Thanks for reminding me.

No Reports of my Death column in The Guardian for a second consecutive week. Could mean something, probably doesn't, thought I'd mention it anyway.

It's a bad year to be a former Felt bassist named Mick, as Mick Bund has now died. Played bass on The Pictorial Jackson Review, but here's a track from his band Mexico 70 which he fronted.

Dead at the age of 83. -
Pete Frates becomes the 4th of my Pete's to peter out and my 8th hit overall, whilst Tobin and Sutcliffe live on. Puts me top of the leaderboard, I believe. Edit: At least, that would be the case were he actually dead.
