Thread for French sex symbol, actress, cultural icon, animal lover and ...uhh.. occasional racist Brigitte Bardot, now 87 years old. I was inspired to create this thread after her most recent racial faux-pas regarding the people of La Reunion, not the first time she "misspoke"! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2021/11/04/brigitte-bardot-fined-calling-french-indian-ocean-islanders/ Health-wise she had breast cancer in the 80s, and overdosed once (that we know of), indicating a history of drugs. After her worldwide career as an actress and occasional singer and model, she became an outspoken animal rights activist. Her current husband has connections to Jean-Marie Le Pen. She also had relationships with deathlist favourite Jean-Louis Trintignant, and, of course, Warren Beatty. But I guess it's her face and posture that is the stuff of legends (and inspiration for Jane Fonda's also iconic Barbarella):

Wow..... RIP.. legend. I should post when I have a "feeling". Last two times I did, David Graham and Maggie Smith died on that day.
-
I don't see her dying within days, but weeks. The new year is a stretch though, November/December is most likely, I think.

German TV lifetime achievement awards for Mario Adorf and Margot Friedländer who were both not well enough to be there in person: https://m.bild.de/unterhaltung/tv-fernsehformate/mario-adorf-ausgezeichnet-zu-krank-fuer-deutschen-fernsehpreis-66f2b4ba16186823b4bd18a5

Wow, well that happened fast.

Have a feeling we might be waiting for the Rupert Keegan obit until the BBC year-end round up.

"Old Dry Keith" Brown, a British man who became an unexpected Internet celebrity in China with his videos of making simple sandwiches, has died: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/30630608/brit-influencer-old-dry-keith-dead-china/

Kind of running out of names... I will go with Jason Hawk of Reality TV series Mountain Men. Gustavo Gutierrez moves to 2nd sub.

This thread is for deaths related to the video/console/computer/mobile game industry, i.e. designers, composers, all kinds of programmers or even popular players of certain games. I thought this branch of popular culture was missing here. Of course, this industry is relatively new, so people haven't really started to die away of age, but maybe it starts soon, and people can die for other reasons as well. I'll start with two deaths: James Storey, graphical designer for Duke Nukem 3d, is dead at 41: http://www.vg247.com/2015/06/03/duke-nukem-3d-artist-passes-away-aged-41/ No reason was given. Also, Kirill Prokovsky, composer of music for the Divinity games, especially for Divinity: Original Sin is dead at 53: http://gamingbolt.com/divinity-original-sin-composer-passes-away No reason was given.

According to her latest video, Shirley Curry is retiring from making gaming videos. She'll have eye surgery (actually today): https://www.ign.com/articles/beloved-skyrim-grandma-retires-from-making-gameplay-videos-at-88-years-old She also feels too tired to do more, tired of it, tired in general, maybe both. She might still do normal videos though.

Julián Muñoz please, now that Rupert Keegan has died.

Real Housewife Annemarie Wiley has a tumour on the gallbladder, and has her gallbladder removed: https://people.com/rhobh-annemarie-wiley-reveals-she-has-tumor-gallbladder-gallstones-8716616 Gallbladder cancer is somewhat underrated - from a deadpooling perspective, but they have to check if it's a malignant tumour.

The thread for the jewish-American comedian, producer and actor Mel Brooks. He turns 90 in June. He won pretty much everything there is to win in show business. There are no bad news about his health, but he must surely be a future candidate for the Death List. His wife Anne Bancroft died 10 years ago, and here he is in a 2015 Independent article looking really old: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/theatre-dance/mel-brooks-the-comic-genius-and-risk-taking-director-on-how-retirement-is-not-an-option-and-faking-a6759956.html He most recently recorded a political robocall for his great nephew running for office in New York state: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/mel-brooks-robocall-great-nephew-state-senate-race-article-1.2597166

This might be the only thread among the 50 deathlist people where we post less than we could, because Brooks still goes out regularly, whereas, say, Cleo Laine, no news for years...

Dick Moss, lawyer who achieved free agency for baseball players, dead at 93: https://www.livemint.com/news/dick-moss-the-lawyer-who-won-free-agency-for-baseball-players-dies-at-age-93-11727036187936.html Sounds much like the Bosman ruling to me.

Yeah, that's all quite concerning. He's skipping the wheelchair period. Maybe some cancer? (Bone cancer, like the Queen)
