Oh, that's probably true. There's nothing left to exploit and becoming a safe haven for rich criminals around the world has very dimishing returns. And besides, Switzerland offers everyhting tha tthe UK could offer, only somewhat better - except for defense technology.

Jared Kushner was treated for thyroid cancer during Trump's presidency: https://politicalwire.com/2022/07/25/kushner-treated-for-thyroid-cancer-while-in-white-house/ Not the worst cancer but he's so young to get it. Not a good sign.

I do give him credit for the marketing efforts, it's what Steve Jobs used to make Apple great (again), too. And as far as I know, SpaceX is doing okay business. But it would be a shame of the Tesla factory here will become an industrial ruin in the next years.

Berlin and the region here was so enthusiastic when Tesla decided to open their giga factory in the neighbourhood. But lately, I just can't shake off the feeling that Musk is a fraud. Not a total fraud, but not the genius he pretends to be. He's no Bill Gates, maybe not even a Steve Jobs. He's created a personality cult and hopes that his businesses turn a profit, and continue to do so once the boom is over. It seems to work in places, but he, himself, got so rich because of stock pump-and-dump schemes, and selling overprices companies at the right time. Some recent news about Tesla here have not been good. I wonder if his vaguely defined empire is going to collapse eventually. He reminds me of the worse half of the 19th century robber barons, not a Rockefeller or Carnegie, more like a Jay Gould.

Yeah, it's still only one unique hit difference. The Mike Davis thing wasn't all that decisive, even if he were a hit, it's still only relayed to the tie breaker. I've heard nothing on Gary Stibolt nor Mint Sauce Small Q, nor Henry Dickerson. Robyn Griggs Wiley has been suspiciously quiet for a while on her other gofundme, where she's just Robyn Wiley. However, Dave Taylor is in chemo, and supposedly still in there for a while. He doesn't expect to die within the next week, though esophageal cancer can be quick.

I know the face.... I know the face... but from where? Never watched Twin Peaks, maybe Star Trek VI? Maybe Titanic or Avatar? He seems to have been in everything. He was the voice of Jon Irenicus, main villain of RPG Baldur's Gate II. Edit: Also an actor in Time Bandits, but then who wasnt...

I do expect my public intellectuals to recognize when finally, for once, the USA aren't the evil party in an argument, and that they are a little more nuanced. To be fair though, Chomsky is very old and might not have the mental flexibility anymore. But it does make you wonder if he ever had a nuanced view or whether he's just anti-american on principle or because it's his brand. That I outgrew roughly 15 years ago.

He loved to play the clown, like a few others of our recent right/right-wing leaders. They played their part well, distracting from what their billionaire backers actually did. (Same reason why Mitch McConnell tolerated Donald Trump)
