She's releasing her memoirs later this year: https://www.rockcellarmagazine.com/linda-ronstadt-memoir-feels-like-home-details-2022/

No recent videos or news stories (that one from last month about men's underwear was an old story). For someone as messianic as Alan Greenspan that's a BAD sign. He's one of the people who NEEED to be on television everytime. Plus, when I look at that slightly cancer-y, thin picture of him in the CNN article thumbnail, I kind of think, that the end is nigh. I think the committee was right to pick him this year.

Now that is "real" government failure.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Pabllo Vittar feat. Rina Sawayama - Follow me. Kind of a banger, I like it, but I am totally the target audience. -
^^ oh, interesting. Wearing his "Space Force" shirt, lol, but also, the fake tan has gone, and the hair is white. He looks like William Shatner to me.

John Catoir has gone to the Lord, praise Jesus: Well, now my team is waiting on two obits.

He's finished five months (!) of chemo, a massive effort, which, in my opinion, can only get worse the next time. But for now, he's alive and in a better position:

He's gone a bit quiet on social media, but thankfully, he lets us know that he's still alive (sound slike there's room for improvement though):

Aaahh.. and now she goes into the three mystery years that Jeanne Calment had above every other human being. Oh yeah, and just to totally jinx it... presumably nobody ever died at age 120.

The Alagiah/Turnbull double is a factor to look at, though I think we already previously identified George Alagiah as a key differential or "un-differential". But with those two together, we get a pretty broad "drop 40" wave in which somebody might just win with one lucky hit, thinking of Book's Natalie Kwadrans, or Tofoa's, say, Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Lexi Reed, the weight loss influencer who apparently took things a little too far, is now back in hospital after already having been in a coma in January: https://theblast.com/210814/weight-loss-influencer-lexi-reed-re-hospitalized-not-getting-better/

Hallmark Channel actor Brennan Elliott's wife Cami, a "model and actress" of dubious notability could be the Criscilla Anderson of 2023 with stage IV cancer: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10685297/Brennan-Elliott-reveals-fearless-wife-Cami-battling-stage-IV-metastatic-stomach-cancer.html Note my word "dubious"...just because I mention it, doesn't mean she gets into the DDP.

Oh, that's a good one already. Lovely pool. Happy to play again.

Alright, let's do this... because Tom Smith and Nehemiah Persoff are pretty big hits. It also gives me the opportunity to quickly add Cpt Chorizo's unique hits Scott Hall and Johnny Brown. Edit: Oops, Of course, we ALSO had the popular names June Brown and Estelle Harris. It's been a lot in just a few days... The merry-go-round at the top continues as the new leader is now ... Banana. Chorizo also makes up good ground. Chilean Way gets his first points. Rank Team Score 1 Banana 748 2 Salmon Mousse 747 3 msc 698 4 Joey Russ 650 5 Cpt. 98 hits in not even 96 days. This has been an avalanche lately. Stanislaw Kowalski will probably only make the List of the Lost. But otherwise, it's been a very busy year, and with the DeathList now at 4 hits, the somewhat quiet February and March are compensated. An interesting year, and Tom Smith widens the competition. Other paths to victory become possible.

Congratulations!! (Thank the gods my shameless attempt didn't work)

Yeah, I guess some patterns do emerge because of the way the committee chooses its people. They rarely go for the DDP-typical stage IV cancer people, but they do recognize when someone like Daniel Arap Moi has been on their last legs as the new year begins. I think the committee wants to have more "death versatility" beyond cancer deaths, which explains their regular "frail but not really" picks like Joni Mitchell, Marianne Faithfull, or Linda Ronstadt.

Albert Raboteau was a hit for me, with NYT obit: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/13/books/albert-j-raboteau-dead.html

In spite of his high age, rather unexpected. But then at that age, anything can happen. Sad.
-
I mean, what is time anyway?
-
I just had a revelation that he's going to be on the 2023 DeathList... he checks all the boxes. (Edit: Yes, I think that's my worst post ever)
-
Yes, we're in exactly the same position. I do believe that everybody has one freebie, because we've just become too good at picking frail and sick people. Still, I would have liked my freebie to last a little longer.

Oh wow, curious..
