I kind of forgot the rules and have lost track of my team...but I guess I choose Frank Field.

Thanks for the reminder, I was a little busy... well... what about Louie Anderson.

Leonor Oyarzún: https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/2022/01/21/a-los-102-anos-fallecio-leonor-oyarzun-viuda-del-expresidente-aylwin/ Yeah, this is ridiculous. I could have won the Deathrace with centenarians, or something.

I've been updating like crazy, 3 times within 24 hours or so. 4 DDP deaths on January 20th (for now). 27 deaths in 20 days is a record rate, though the all-time monthly record of 36 deaths is still a bit away. But January still has 11 days, and there's Frank Field, Susie Steiner, Vicky Phelan, also Isabel Torres, and some more who might just be on a clock.

Yeah, seems legit. Well done, Banana!

That's a meta joke for those who watch(ed) the show and/or know the person.

Some click-bait-like looking metal site knew it: https://metalsludge.tv/bat-out-of-hell-sources-say-meat-loaf-is-in-very-bad-health-with-covid-and-on-his-deathbed/ Could it actually have been COVID? They didn't officially release a cause of death yet, but maybe he was unvaccinated, so they don't want to reveal that. On the other hand, he might have had quite a few co-morbidities.

RIP.... I guess he hasn't been the healthiest person for a while, but I'm still a little shocked.

So yeah, in hospital for two days: https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/brazilian-soccer-legend-pele-back-hospital-more-chemotherapy-espn-2022-01-20/ According to info from ESPN, he has cancer in his colon, his liver, and the beginning of a tumour in his lung.

Creed Bratton, aka Creed Bratton from The Office, born William Charles Schneider, not dead, but it seems there were rumours:

I have been checking the health on my pick Greg Mears basically every six hours. Went into hospice around christmas, but no news since. Roider Cabrera fell into a coma, then vegetative state, had surgery, still lying around there. Dan Lacey, Pancake painter, off radar death? And on the clock: Frank Field, Russell Bishop, Susie Steiner (it's a very slow clock), Catherine Wybourne as well, Vicky Phelan....nothing is happening.

Norman Lloyd almost made it which would have been 7 free points basically. But yeah, it's very unreliable with the centenarians right now. Maybe last year was also the end of a chapter, with Lloyd and Beverly Cleary gone, the last really famous centenarians of, well, the DDP since 2000. We have to "grow" the next generation of centenarians, Prince Philip and Betty White didn't make it, but Kissinger likely makes it. Maybe Bob Barker, too, though I don't think so, personally. Norman Lear needs to gain some more traction, maybe even should.

A german actor with a DDP QO for once: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/celebrities/17382545/hardy-kruger-dead-california-bridge-too-far/

So close to Thich Nhat Hanh, but still a miss.

Ah I see, there was a team named "Nobody here gets out alive". Last in the game in 2014. I guess we assumed that the team returned. I will change it, not today, though! I have worked in the first round of corrections now, including an additional team. Julian Fiano and David Butler, the very local playwright (actually a doctor), are disqualified, too. Julian Fiano is a DQ from last year actually. That said, he will not survive the year. Francis Jackson is now on a third team, ie. a lucky sub. Michael Fish is now the designer for one team (Let's see if more switches are needed..), and so on...
-
Yes, I am changing it actually right now, thanks!

I'm not sure... I mean, he is well past 80. His eyes look like he has thyroid problems. And he does suffer from a myriad of minor issues, and well, cancer, but yeah, he might not be that close to death's door as it might appear. He just looks that way because he's getting old, and has that Pépé face.

She did well to last so long, but I think she got cut open and sewed shut so often now, that her body is unable to recover.

Club Icon of Dynamo Dresden, Dixie Dörner, who accumulated 100 appearances for East Germany, dead at 70: https://www.spiegel.de/sport/fussball/ddr-fussballstar-hans-juergen-dixie-doerner-ist-tot-a-3a30ec50-6a11-4537-a985-1824e11a2b7d I seem to remember some health rumours. Cause of death was a "long and heavy illness".
-
Israel Dresner was a hit for Banana and me.
-
Ahem, no they aren't ;). It has to be set manually, and it seems I began to skip over that part at around the 30th pick. Will be sorted.
-
Yeah, you should, I remember though that I didn't see it with Jana Bennett, yesterday evening. I'll try again.

Indonesia moves its capital from Jakarta to the island of Borneo, the new name will be Nusantara: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/indonesia-new-capital-name-nusantara-east-kalimantan-2440426 https://www.spiegel.de/ausland/indonesien-kuenftige-hauptstadt-auf-borneo-heisst-nusantara-a-f101063d-a7ff-4f07-9971-d4a08068840a (german) Not yet the end times, but I like that they decided to move the capital because Jakarta is slowly sinking into the ground, i.e. slowly turning into a swamp half under water, and also because of the traffic collapse and bad air quality. This is how it's going to be when this planet collapses and everything and everyone slowly dies - some rich and powerful people will just try to move to a new planet.
