Tiffany Youngs, wife of Rugby star Tom Youngs, was a DDP pick a few years ago. She wouldn't qualify now, but her cancer is back, and it looks really bad: https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/58956163

Aadam surely is a typo?? Kylo, ok, that's Star Wars. Kacper instead of Casper? Is there a rapper with that name? Edit: Oh, Kacper is the polish spelling, and there is a big football talent right now with that name. Edit: Aadam - oh, there's an MMA guy's son, now also an MMA guy: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/14549428/prince-naseem-hamed-son-aadam-dancing-boxing/

Hmm.... okay, while the biggest COVID danger seems to be over now, it's still dangerous with co-morbidities. Which means that all the old people with their chronic cancers, prostate, myeloma, leukemia, are suddenly in higher danger, because we, as a species, have now decided to live with COVID. We're mostly vaccinated, yes, but with potentially millions of asypmtomatic COVID-positive people running around, there will be quite a few victims. I mean, not just Powell, but Robert Durst right now as well, or Tony Marschall, as you can see in the D-A-CH-thread.
-
Colin Powell
-
Oh wow.... big one. At one time, he could have been president, until the Iraq debacle destroyed his reputation. I wonder if he actually wasn't vaccinated - or already had secret health issues. So among the Republicans, we've had Shultz, Rumsfeld and Powell this year, so far... while Kissinger and Baker survive.
-
Oh.. that's an interesting guessing game... after 5 minutes of just googling and such, I see he is friends with Morgan Freeman - but that's probably not him - and he loves cricket. So maybe a cricket player? Edit: Maybe Tom Courtenay? In the context of the article, it has to be someone around his age - so not Alan Igglesden, for example.

Ally McLaws QO: https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19652854.tributes-paid-herald-sunday-columnist-ally-mclaws/

I think this is a QO for Ally McLaws? Well Done, msc, update later today: https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19652854.tributes-paid-herald-sunday-columnist-ally-mclaws/

Yes, that's a good comparison. I think she, the Queen, will not reach her mother's age. The duties have been wearing her down... a little. Her mother was a pampered retiree for 60 years.

Do the obits have to be in english here, because I could offer: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/noticias/morre-miguel-oliveira-segundo-brasileiro-150100165.html https://www.msn.com/pt-br/noticias/brasil/miguel-de-oliveira-campeĆ£o-mundial-de-boxe-morre-aos-74-anos/ar-AAPyXYS?li=AAvYMzb

Boxing champion Miguel De Oliveira is dead, as posted by drol. Next obit gamble for me.

Hillary's new novel is a best-seller, maybe Bill retaliated with his old-school ways?

Yo yo, hit for me, too. No. 418 on my longlist. Oh, Bouteflika, too. Edit: And Lars Vilks! I'm catching up!

Heh, well, I picked him in deadpools a year ago (or is it already two years ago?). It turns out, he didn't have cancer, contrary to some media, and it's obvious that when it comes to him, the press is very sensationalist. Is he really ill? I don't know. Sweepstakes are more reserved for those who we know are ill, and who we know have run out of options - or in rare cases, for A+++ celebrities.
-
Interesting. One of the biggest (THE biggest?) remaining cases closed.
-
That's nice. I kind of expected that one would come. Doesn't count for every pool though.

Tony DeMarco gets a Sun obit: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/16409609/tony-demarco-dead-iconic-boxer/ Interesting, is the Sun becoming to boxing what the Sun is for wrestling?
-
Probably the oldest person in space for a looong time. He might just be the healthiest 90-year old on the planet. (and off).

I've been pretty successful in this with a couple of top placements (though not THE top placement), but no chance this time. I'm pretty sure Nigel Lawson will be the winning pick for msc. And pretty soon, like, early next year.
