Halloween - Dead Kennedys???

Hm, it could be possible, but unlikely?

Tava Colo, supposedly 118 years old, and so the oldest person living, now dead: https://la1ere.francetvinfo.fr/mayotte/tava-colo-la-mahoraise-doyenne-de-france-s-est-eteinte-a-l-age-de-118-ans-997528.html The age wasn't commonly accepted though because of doubtful documents.

Hmmm.... Rainald Grebe, German comedian and songwriter, especially known for the "Brandenburg" song has vasculitis: https://www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/musiker-rainald-grebe-leidet-an-krankheit-vaskulitis-ich-dachte-ich-werde-nicht-mehr-a-1481f139-bfe8-4167-b88d-01945a2dfc8a Whatever this is, it has been causing strokes regularly, and more and more frequently, since 2017. Six of them in the latest episode in January.

Apparently, the country with the highest deaths/population rate is now Hungary. They have surpassed Gibraltar and put quite the distance behind them already. Hungary, first EU country to use the Chinese and Russian vaccines on a grand scale. At third place is Czechia, who have also made a Sputnik V deal, and had to re-assess that strategy because of faulty Russian quality.

Bunny Matthews sounds dire. I don't know why my searches didn't pick him up. But sometimes you just need the right timing. I guess that explains my Steve Davis unique last month. And like Steve Davis, Bunny Matthews is a known name on the forum, I posted the return of cancer myself a couple of years ago. It's been a slow-moving illness, which is why he's still alive, I guess. This month, it's probably peak Indian Corona isn't it? Hell, so many names from that region. Bangladesh, too. It has a bit of a lottery factor to it. And well, that's (hopefully) the biggest wave of death we'll see in our life times. India was so lucky to get through the first two waves so well. It probably helped that the neighbors to the East are fans of "Zero Covid" and that there is probably not much border-crossing with Pakistan in the West. Accidentally, India was shielded from the first two waves. But it still trickled in, only to explode right now. A huge tragedy.

Six shared picks between Cpt. Chorizo and me. That's quite something. We have different jokers though, but maybe that wont matter, as we also picked each other's not-joker.

I consciously decided against picking Litsa Menounos and Terry Lubbock here. After 3 QO misses in the last year, this is more conventional. 1. David Gulpilil 500 2. Bob Dole 450 3. Susie Steiner 4. Peter Tobin 5. Larry Pressler 6. Ally McLaws 275 7. Kat Bjelland 8. Francoise Hardy 9. Philipp Mickenbecker 10. Suzy Friton 180 11. Rick Laird 160 12. Albert Raboteau 140 13. Frederik De Klerk 120 14. Antonio Inoki 15. Stephen Lewis (Canada) 16. Raul Castro 17. Mick Bates 55 18. John "Zip" Connolly 19. Phil Read 20. Jake The Snake Roberts 21. Ady Barkan Subs: John Gwynne Jerry Grey (or is it Gray?) - the wrestler Archie Roach

Thanks Perhaps, that was a nerve-wretching round. An impressive performance on your side, I think.
-
Yes, I expected Lubbock to die literally in the hour of the turn of the month. Stage IV pancreatic cancer, on morphine, etc...

Is this an obit for Michelle Gonzalez-Green? https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/crime/article250999399.html It mentions her death in the middle.
-
The lady left of him is still alive, and actually quite notable, an MBE and very much Guardian obit fodder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ena_Collymore-Woodstock
-
Yeah, I'm watching him, too, admittedly. That link says he died yesterday/wednesday, which is almost certainly false. But he does set up a photo finish tomorrow.
-
Of course, we do the bios. Usually, we don't know which team picked those new names that are passed from Grim Up North to msc and me. I think these bios up there are by me. And I wanted to make clear that death by death penalty does not score, just in case a new player would not read that rule and think that we are withholding these points.

Oh yeah, if I had more disposable income, my walls would be lined with them. -
Next month, Stephen Fry is going to interview ALS-"cyborg" Peter Scott-Morgan:

The stylist and friend of Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, Mark Hasche, hairdresser and a transitioning woman now known as Mia Hasche or Mia Markee, has pancreatic cancer: https://www.survivornet.com/articles/reality-star-brandi-glanvilles-best-friend-mia-hasche-is-recovering-after-extensive-surgery-for-pancreatic-cancer-what-is-the-whipple-procedure/ They appeared on the show Real Housewives as well and call themselves "celevrity stylist on their instagram".

Spanish-speaking sites have recently said that Castro has rectal and esophageal cancer. But I'm not sure how much of that is more than just rumours: https://www.americateve.com/castro/abc-espana-raul-castro-tiene-cancer-n1094847 https://www.abc.es/internacional/abci-raul-castro-cancer-esofago-y-recto-deja-cargo-medio-peor-crisis-202104180113_noticia.html

I feel, the last man living to have been on the moon, is going to be a "Thomas Jefferson survives" kind of situation.

Indeed, happy birthday, Joey! Have fun in the new age bracket.

My pick Michelle Gonzalez-Green has died: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/michelle-gonzales-green-obituary?pid=198437597&__cf_chl_captcha_tk__=b351a1afab2aa61af45c23fcb98755e963951b20-1619520637-0-AT5x6Kk-870ONCEYonyyOxznHFf4TfD9Kz4C2fbcKToVIm5G8rwq_pDEDcnuyPuSdsNlfpCkMBb6enYpxwgT2bVQ62gPDQdXabdcg7NktJ9Bpwm99-EilTjkspwdCpOd9f4EIm4QjMB2zkvGO0nli0gs4yLL-QPFD0xObnf64hEt64_TY1E2AHeS0-E_vXh6Bus5x2XpeOKY3fzXRuB6-twSTu5THnoeAvebWWayEDQ-YtIJuls7XFqjY0__Jf2RED6Nivsbw1c7806UCnNUy26lDGPbrt6_swKYcSIHch3R9-SVscqvmiK84y6F1Rhf9rFBfEoUXn3lzkGsyxwWSuZi2iQQQQVDBZcAqyiot5pynsgjAZJddKZJEzspjceMs54VTh8asszTRwFaUu9VGvrulmrK2m8VgLnM0I3cDBEOvRd93iMKBX5nCmKFyMPNE1AKfcnZNozYOG28fTldD8BjCwyY3ILIRhNgBFdhsVWiDn7Xa1ijM6xtgf4vzqOURyjSsT86w1Ys8_N-S9VLu4yIoEBT_92hLdq143Wh_hubNO6c4eFd0GHYaS8fcC-OUEShEHbI3ewnny8CTFYwb1jmFk81-OUM1PqGRAfzAcXDRzZKnVOTjYoadJ3s6xCAzcjXoiKA-_4zgr3IAe2bVrK0ne8kenrZ76gMDvwvH_1ANQZfGvhi67ukNqTqTc-g2yygkBbSmthdI9aS8nEML21BtPwfteT5NwrOBVD5mphg1j5_XTb2W-iyCjIl7NM3vA As far as I know, those legacy entries are not QOs. Let's see if a local obit comes up. She was a known figure in Durham, North Carolina. But I'm not sure.

Oh well, I don't know about that one. And it sounds like I am better of not knowing what that is about. -
Yeah, he pulled a fast one on us, or himself possibly. About Kazi Hayat, well I never even saw the name in the first place. But that's what you can like or hate about this competition. You can google yourself to death on the 30th, and still lose because you didn't include information available on the 31st. Still, the match between Perhaps and me is close, and it's still 3,5 days. I think there are still 1-2 aces in Perhaps' deck. I think I have some left, too, but I won't breathe easily until the last minute.

Well-timed suggestion, as his daughter just released a documentary about the man.
