Yes, we have most of the sneaky unique hospice picks already behind us (except for my pick Albert Raboteau, :cough:), but all the commonly known names still alive.

Scientists, Inventors And Techno Wizards

Fascinating. Inventors are always interesting deadpool names. And so, i had to check, the inventor, or well, one of the main inventors, of the CD is also still alive, James Russell at 89/90 years old: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Russell_(inventor) Another big contributor, David Paul Gregg, has been dead for a while now though. -
A possibility: Franz Beckenbauer. His lawyers said a week ago that he suffers from a progressive neurological disease with no expectation of improvement: https://apnews.com/article/international-soccer-world-cup-statutes-franz-beckenbauer-germany-bd01f9fea23cd41bbd73c5d154209880 Could be an exaggeration for legal purposes though.

Grace Victory now awake from coma: https://meaww.com/grace-victory-wake-up-medically-induced-coma-two-months-baby-thriving-reactions That must have been a very close call. Edit: Oh well, let's add the BBC coverage: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-56326411

Nabindra Raj Joshi back in coma, oh-oh: https://english.khabarhub.com/2021/09/168924/

That makes it one per day in February, which is two months in a row we fulfilled that quota. However, those K2 climbers did it. Otherwise it was a month that was kind of running out of steam, with fewer and fewer hits, but quite big ones among them. The steam finally ran out on March 2nd, it seems and we had a week of silence. Now, that idle period however was perfect for getting LotL, LotM and the photos done.

Convicted serial child killer Joseph Duncan has glioblastoma and might not live long enough to die by his death sentence: https://www.kxly.com/convicted-child-killer-joseph-duncan-has-terminal-brain-cancer/ No UK coverage so far, but surely Daily Mail fodder. Terrible person all around, almost on Jeffrey Dahmer level.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

For now, he's still on the board of his foundation: http://www.shapirofamilyfdn.org/DefaultPermissions/AbouttheFoundation/tabid/160/Default.aspx But let's see... (I was pretty invested in him for some time) -
^^ Huh, what happened there... Anyway, here he is three days ago on a new photo:

Probably tons, and especially of those who died early of cancer, i.e. Gord Downie's and Leah Bracknell's partners. Also Pinochet's widow.

Picked in the DDP before - but not this time. So a bit of a miss for me, and Banana. She seemed okay until very recently. It was one of those cancer battles with a lot of ups and downs.

I think it's worth posting this in the "celebrity pregnancy" thread.

That's a funny idea. I tried to change the web address like you can do with uk.yahoo into: https://www.bbc.co.uk/pidgin/tori-56276324 Only, it redirects you to the international one. So it still doesn't count, I'd say.

I have actually wondered if the number of "active" single-people threads is more or less stable or actually inflationary.
-
So, are they actually trying to fix him? I can't wait for Cyborg Phil 2.0.

Cup and AO pool pick Spanish TV presenter Mila Ximenez, no, not dead, but there are "complications" because her lung cancer has become more aggressive in part: https://www.lecturas.com/actualidad/mila-ximenez-regresa-a-salvame-tras-meses-ausencia-y-pleno-tratamiento-contra-cancer_97932 Ah yes, -
Nabindra Raj Joshi supposedly improving - off the ventilator, but risk remains: https://myrepublica.nagariknetwork.com/news/joshi-s-health-improving-blood-pressure-under-control/ My first replacement, and definitely would have made it if he had been 10 years older.

Lunch break mystery... (yeah, that's what I do as almost the only one in my department to not be working from home). I caught this story in the Guardian about Chinese billionaires kicking out British millionaires of newly acquired golf clubs: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2021/mar/02/wentworth-golf-club-reignwood-yan-bin In the article, I stumbled across Sir Stanley Simmons, former physician of the queen, supposedly still alive in his 80s. Only, he's been dead since 2017: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thetimes-uk/obituary.aspx?n=stanley-clifford-simmons&pid=185691622 And the article had already been run by the Guardian in 2016: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/feb/20/battle-for-wentworth-golf-club-surrey-super-rich So yeah, they altered the article slightly, put a new author on top, but didn't remember to check their quotations. (I'm kind of considering talking to the author on his twitter account later) Edit: Well, the author is an author and actually relevant historian at the University of Cambridge... Jesus, you'd think he'd be a little more careful. -
I kind of thought he might/should have been picked this year. There was an ominous silence. But then, I hardly committed to that thought anywhere myself.
