    Operation hope so

Ha, was about to post exactly the same order as Steve... Okay, 1) Duterte 2) Trump 3) Lukaschenko
  5. I see... instead of the typical "Who died in 2020" year-end list, you give us the "who isn't yet dead" list.

    Shane MacGowan

I read in a related article on the documentary, that Shane has "practically given up" on alcohol. Also, I think this must be indeed be the longest thread between "must be dead soon" and actual death.

    Political Frailty

It's deadpooling season, so, of course, Constantino Chiwenga, Zimbabwe's vice president, is being flown out of the country for health reasons again: https://thezimbabwedaily.com/news/523278-sick-vp-chiwenga-flies-out-again.html

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Former Vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana, George Benneh, insists on voting in spite of being frail, 86 years old, in a wheelchair, and hardly being able to speak: https://www.modernghana.com/news/1048467/election-2020-86-year-old-wheelchair-bound-ex.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Benneh He also had a short spell as finance minister. Plus, his younger brother Emmanuel, also a professor, was recently killed, and that's in the news, which almost made me think that it was George Benneh, who was voting, and dead: Here a BBC pidgin link: https://www.bbc.com/pidgin/tori-54144596

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

Two people developed allergic reactions to the Pfizer vaccine: https://www.itv.com/news/2020-12-09/covid-vaccine-two-people-who-had-pfizer-vaccine-on-tuesday-had-allergic-reactions Still, out of several tens of thousands participants, it's quite acceptable, I'd say.

Who Should Make The Deathlist In 2021?

James Caan is very active on twitter: https://twitter.com/James_Caan?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author He ends every tweet with "End of tweet" - setting himself up for inevitable jokes.

    Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

That's sad. I especially like "The Pearl", an album he made with Brian Eno. The album is a real gem ... or pearl.

    Last of the Presidents

Also voted Bush. Trump maybe gets in the early 80s. Bill Clinton 2-3 more years than Trump (Trump is even older than Bill, by 2 months). Bush Jr, I'd say high 80s. And wow, those three were all born in 1946. Carter... well, there are some ominous signs. A couple of months, a year maybe.

    Pope Benedict XVI

Maybe.. that first post has this "he's getting on a bit" part, though the following posts all mention how good in shape he is.

    Pope Benedict XVI

I wonder what the biggest gap between "won't be long" and actually dead is, on this forum... Anyway, Benedict's boy toy Georg Gänswein says that this voice has become weak but he can be understood, if you listen really closely: https://www.katholisch.de/artikel/27833-gaenswein-stimme-von-benedikt-xvi-ist-schwach-aber-verstaendlich (german)
  20. Haim Eshed, 87, former Israeli space program official, claims that the USA and Israel are in contact with the Galactic Federation. He has to reveal it, before Trump does: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9029557/Mankind-contact-alien-Galactic-Federation-Israeli-official-says.html Also at TMZ, Fox and all the usual suspects.

    Hows Your 2021 Shortlist Looking?

I kind of don't want to add any last minute names anymore. And of course, I will submit my team before the end of the year again. Possibly 27th or 28th this time. So yeah, my last names either have to be some killer names on Christmas... or some deep research before christmas, because I probably won't be able to do deep research during Christmas. Anyway....I think I've got about a week or two left and while I think it's looking quite decent...there is something missing. For one, I am currently planning on fielding 3 non-theme teams again. But I run out of good names at about 40-45. And now that I look at it, all those C-team survivors of mine, ...really? Similarly, Death By Numbers and Alt Obits...a couple of good names are missing. I would have just slapped Nobby Stiles on them, but he's dead now. And his logical replacement Jimmy Greaves is already on all those teams. So all in all, not quite happy.

    The Rabbi Thread

Here's an english version of it, I guess Soloveitchik has a day or two left: https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/1926155/hagaon-harav-dovid-soloveitchik-in-private-icu-unit-at-home-in-critical-condition.html Edit: Curious note, they didn't announce his move home, because they didn't want to reduce the "tefillos", the prayers. So if he dies, it means we haven't prayed enough.

    Death By Numbers 2020

Alright, let's do another update, because sometimes, a whole day is worth an update on its own. We've had Peter Alliss and Tabaré Vazquez today, picked by a few of you. There was also Valery Giscard D'estaing. Plus, I have belatedly given points to The Mad Hatter, who had Jazz player Jimmy Heath - died in January with NYT obit. I only noticed that today, as I clean my lists. Then there is Catherine Wines, a possible unique hit for DDT, but there has been no obit. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

So far, it's only rumours and re-tweeting. But Iran has had big problems with COVID. It's a real wonder hardly any clerics have died. I could imagine a single case in the inner circle could lead to total mayhem - not directly because of infections, but because of necessary quarantine or isolation.
