  1. Looks like, as of now, Joe Biden has surpassed Barack Obama's popular vote record of 2008.
  2. Luckily, election night ended juuuuust about good enough for Biden, being ahead in Nevada and WIsconsin, that a Trump attack via courts today looks just about shady enough. And with Georgia Senate runoffs looming further vote tampering could become very dangerous for that tiny Senate majority.
  3. Yeah, I'm not sure how to think about that. Trumpism is alive. That might make Trump bow out a little easier, because he'll always have his media platform. And hell, he might think about running again in 2024. But he's also a very, very flawed symbol of Trumpism, because in the end, there might just be too many personality flaws within him. But his voters won't go away. And a somewhat smoother demagogue, younger, more focused, could easily run on that.
  4. This is a win - thank you Omaha...
  5. It was a likely scenario though, and the scenario Trump liked, that he would be ahead on election day and the early vote would come in later the week, especially in Pennsylvania. That's why he telegraphed in advance, that the Dems would "steal the election" etc.... And yes, Biden still has better chance to win, for example, The New York Times gives him a 63% chance of winning in Georgia. Still, the state polls were off. Shy Trump voters it seems. And why, oh why, does it always have to be so chaotic? Will there be another "Brooks Brothers" riot, i.e. Republican party activists disrupting the state count? But this time in Pennsylvania.... And in addition, yes, Biden gained a lot over Hillary, for example in Minnesota and New Hampshire, also a couple of points in Ohio. You would think that it would translate to Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania at least somewhat. Trump won those states in 2016 by less than 1%. But no, it gets just as close as the last time.

    Time Added

Another "dementia in football" article: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/nov/02/dementia-football-rife-game-not-doing-enough-to-help-chris-chilton-gary-chilton I think, there's an avalanche of football players with dementia coming (as if we couldn't have guessed by the recent news). However, if you want another name for your lists, former Hull City / Coventry City player Chris Chilton, dementia for 8 years.

  20. Yeah, Jason Miller is speaking the Trump campaign spin. "Being ahead on election night" = having more of their votes counted already, because the vote by mail might take another day or so. "steal it back" = counting the vote by mail There are very few countries on Earth where the vote is already finalized on election day. The Trump campaign is trying to sell you a twisted interpretation of numbers - as if there was still a race after Election day that the democrats try to win. But no, it's just the technicality of infrastructure not being able to handle it all on one day.
  21. My predictions for a couple of these swing states: Pennsylvania: Biden +5 Wisconsin: Biden +7 Michigan: Biden +9 Minnesota: Biden +10 Arizona: Biden +4 Florida: Biden +1 Iowa: Trump +2 Texas: Trump +0 Georgia: Trump +0 North Carolina: Biden +2 South Carolina: Trump +5 Nevada: Biden +9 Ohio: Biden +1 I think Texas and Georgia would go for Biden under "normal" circumstances - but with court cases and such, the results will come out in a certain way. Edit: Ah, and Biden wins all the electoral votes in Maine, and one in Nebraska

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

According to the Wikipedia "Deaths of 2020" page, there were four notable Russians dying from COVID on Octobre 29th. It must be very severe there - even worse than the statistics say. And just look at the other days, and include the global perspective. It's worse than the first wave now.
