    Disc Jockeys

Heh, never thought of that one as balearic dance, but yeah, the 20 minute long guitar part does convey that feeling. The german prog bloke is Manuel Göttsching. Obitable guy - 68 years old now.

Country For Old Men (And Women)

As we have known before, hospice in the USA means less than six months life expectancy. His wife wants to keep us updated, so it's probably not an immediate 2-3 day situation. But will he outlast the year?

    Stranger Than Death

Man who was rescued from mortuary freezer because he was though to be dead, dies just a few days after the rescue: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-54566167 Although in these resurrection cases....maybe he just "needed" to be "alive" to change a will or something?

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Okay, I'm posting it because I'm seeing him on TV right now (don't ask).. ..Radio host / regular presence on Fox News / stereotype conservative political grifter Dan Bongino had a big tumor in his head removed (can't have been his brain): https://www.survivornet.com/articles/radio-host-dan-bongino-updates-fans-on-his-health-following-surgery-to-remove-tumor-doesnt-skip-a-beat-at-work/ It's probably advanced lymphoma but he's optimistic about the future.

    Celebrity COVID Deniers

Our "99 red balloons" national treasure Nena "doesn't want to be hypnotized and be pulled down into the darkness": https://www.tagesspiegel.de/gesellschaft/panorama/popsaengerin-verwirrt-mit-aussage-zu-corona-nena-loest-spekulationen-um-verschwoerungstheorien-aus/26277878.html Her statement gets a LIKE from Germany's former no. 1 r'n'b/rapper Xavier Naidoo (six no.1 studio albums, 3 no.1 live albums). He's now a major conspiracy theorist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xavier_Naidoo Also worth a mention is our "Berlin hipster vegan celebrity chef"-turned right-wing icon and chief denier Attila Hildmann: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attila_Hildmann

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

The second wave of the Spanish Flu was worse than the first one. Maybe for psychological reasons? People could accept the singularity of the pandemic in March/April. People were willing to make temporary sacrifices and the virus was beaten back. But now, we are not willing, and not prepared, and maybe not even able, to do it again. People want a return to normal. They might have become numb to the danger, e.g. "we can live with it". And the economy just survived the first lockdown, but a second one makes the whole construct collapse. Germany has had these economic buffers for such an event. But all the aid programs are running out. The whole leisure economy is going to collapse in the winter. Many small businesses are going to close. The politicians are unwilling the go into debt again - they might not even be able to! A new wave of hundreds of billions of euros or dollars of new debt might lead to too much inflation.

    Donald J Trump

I do have to admit that Donald Trump is a remarkable personality, and in some sense the most remarkable personality in the history of the world. Never before has one single person overwhelmed the whole world to this extent with their own destructive, corrupting tendencies and their unique set of personal grievances and deficiencies. Even on this forum!
