Unlikely to make it, but I will pick baseball player Brian Dayett.

He left a recent show early for feeling ill. Supposedly nothing to worry about though: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-13512715/Alan-Brazil-left-final-hour-birthday-broadcast-fell-ill-former-worker-gives-health-update-presenter.html

Yeah, he's been trending on twitter for the whole day - no new news apart from the things we already posted here. But yeah, opinions on him seem to get more sour by the day.

Good observation, evidence for there being fewer and fewer party loyalists (an international phenomenon)

This has been a year of too much lingering on, and so, too many defensive picks on the teams. Carter, Chomsky, Wayne Eddy, maybe also Jane McAlevey, and Dylan Willows for a couple of months. The scores have been relatively low because of that, but then maybe it's actual medical progress. Carter is breaking hospice records now.

Banana opens the round with Bangladeshi actress Rista Laboni Shimana. We've been a little short on those subcontinent names this year, haven't we? She was discovered in a casting show in 2006 and had been a steady figure in TV shows, commercials, modeling, and the like. A nasty brain hemorrhage unfortunately ended her life at only 39. In other news, wannamaker's joker Dr. Mazeika Sullivan already died in May, but it was only revealed on the 4th of this month. According to the rules then, wannamaker is "Out of luck", and has to continue without those joker points. But then, even if he had died a day later, there's no obit coming up. There's the legacy obit that doesn't count: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/dr-sean-mazeika-sullivan-obituary?id=55283305 If nobody else has the strong wish to take over, I will probably host for another year. And I think I have to set the bar for qualification for the academic types a little higher - I might even be doing the players a favour with this... But then wannamaker's first sub would have been Mamie Loverock who is "miraculously recovering". So, it's probably a wash anyway. GuyFromFuture 0-0 wannamaker Banana 4-0 max_bossetti

Oh, Jonathan Mills.... Rejected for the DDP, ahem: https://www.thetimes.com/uk/obituaries/article/my-brilliant-brother-final-year-cricket-century-cancer-5bwr8jqv8

If accepted, YouTuber Paul Harrell please. Also, my 2nd sub Caleb Carr has already died. Guess I'll go with Georg Koch.

Oh dear.. Unfortunately, this is a worst case for you according to the rules. I'll try to post an update tonight, definitely tomorrow.

And he didn't even die of cancer, but of a heart attack.

Congratulations Phil, well done!

This Stormy Daniels thing is such a big nothing, compared to all the other Trump trials that are currently ongoing, and yet, it's easy for the low information voter to understand, and it's mostly unpolitical. Shades of Al Capone finally getting caught on tax evasion.

Thread for Sonia Gandhi, born Edvige Antonia Albina "Sonia" Maino, 71 years old as of March 2018. Born in Italy, she studied in Cambridge where she met Rajiv Gandhi, son of Indira Gandhi. He had an early death via suicide bomber, so Sonia then became the de facto head of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty while her two children grew up. She led the Congess Party for almost 20 years and then gave the chairmanship to her son. She had a couple of health problems in the past years, most critically, surgery for cervical cancer in 2011. The Political Frailty thread also counts her multiple hospitalizations since then: March 2018: https://scroll.in/latest/873033/sonia-gandhi-flown-to-delhi-after-falling-ill-during-visit-to-shimla Octobre 2017: https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/sonia-gandhi-moved-to-delhi-hospital-from-shimla-1768018 May 2017: http://indianexpress.com/article/india/sonia-gandhi-in-hospital-for-food-poisoning-4648609/ November 2016: https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/congress-chief-sonia-gandhi-hospitalised-in-delhi-1631641 August 2016: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/Sonia-Gandhi-back-in-hospital/article14576189.ece December 2014: http://www.firstpost.com/politics/congress-chief-sonia-gandhi-admitted-to-hospital-for-respiratory-tract-infection-1856355.html August 2013: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/10267187/Sonia-Gandhi-hospitalised.html What is going on?

Tin Oo's death is very bad for me in the hospitalization pool, but on the flip side, Sonia Gandhi is in ill health again: https://www.newstap.in/telangana/sonia-gandhi-not-taking-part-in-telangana-formation-day-fete-1538321

Well done drol, betting against an immortal.

Robert Pickton actually had to be subbed for one team. Robert Luckert and Roberto Lückert are the same person I -- heavily - assume.

Tin Oo QO: https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/jun/01/tin-oo-nld-founder-with-with-aung-san-suu-kyi-dies-aged-97-in-myanmar I'm very surprised by how fast this one came.

If he died after 5:30 local time, yes.

Maguni Charan Kuanr died just a couple of hours too late to give DDT the win. The Times of India obit gives today as date of death, and the earliest obit seems to have come about 4 hours ago. I noticed that DDT always seems good for a late-in-the-month hit. The timing was just a tiny bit off this time.
