So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
gcreptile replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I've been watching half of Community so far, now that it's on Netflix. Remarkably consistent weirdo-comedy by Dan Harmon (co-creator of Rick and Morty). At some point, I realized that Sir Creep is "our" Pierce. -

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
gcreptile replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I wouldn't even discuss the general gropey-ness of two older men. Nobody cares! Nobody cared for Kennedy's and Clinton's infidelity, nobody cared that Reagan was history's first divorced president, nobody cared for Trump's pussy-grabbing or Biden's come-from-behind whispering in your ear. I would rather point out the general fuckedupness of the Trump administration vs. Biden's solid record in the legislative and executive branch. -
As far as I can tell, Chris Duncan is the youngest hit (100 bonus points). He was picked by several people though.

GUN really is at 16 hits if Ed Genson gets a QO? That's superb. The general wipeout lately is going to make next year's competition quite interesting. I think it's not going to be one for easy pickings. Genson would put me at 11 hits with still some room to grow - which isn't bad - but my bad choice of nrs 3 and 4 has doomed me to mid-table performance.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
gcreptile replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Biden is going to win, at least because of two fundamental reasons: He's more liked than Clinton (sexism, but also her just being her) and Trump hasn't done anything to expand his base - even though he basically just won on technicalities. There's no state where Trump is more popular now than he was 4 years ago. If he's going to win votes in comparison to 2016, it has to be state demographics or other fundamentals moving in his favor, for example, Ohio and Iowa becoming redder, voter suppression in Wisconsin and Florida or something like that. In short, Trump is not going to win any state he lost 4 years ago. But the Democrats are going to move hard in Arizona and North Carolina. Michigan has a well-liked democratic governor and is hardly regarded as a swing state this time (polling consensus is "lean Dem"). And that's basically it. From the 2016 map, I'd already give Arizona and Michigan to Biden, who then just needs to win one of the other battleground states: Pennsylvania (good possibility), Wisconsin (50:50 - or better, having just witnessed the election there), North Carolina (where the Dems are going to win the Senate and gubernatorial race), Florida (De Santis is turning into a catastrophe), Ohio, or Georgia. The latter being less than 50% chances. And then there are the dream states Iowa and Texas. Edit: Funnily, if Biden wins all of the above bar Texas, but Nebraska's 2nd (?) and all of Maine, he'll get the 375 electoral votes Obama got in 2008. -
Well, at least Mr. Brundle thinks that they'll still have some time left to be called.

Oh yes, really starting to show his age now.

If we still had football live coverage we'd soon have two QOs... now, I'm not so sure.

Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?
gcreptile replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Bernie endorses Joe: https://www.axios.com/bernie-sanders-endorses-joe-biden-06a91531-4225-45d1-8c28-1088a2670c75.html?stream=top&utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=alerts_all Didn't matter that much anymore but indicates a little more democratic unity than 4 years ago. Well, let's see if Joe Biden can carry this campaign. I did wonder by the way, if actually all the Obama people will be coming back, and Barack will be a shadow president. -
I changed the link.

Johnny Harris has become a late hit for me. 100 pts of cosmetics.
-
Johnny Harris would be hit no. 99.... Are we going to hit 100 today? We are almost at a 1-hit-per-day rate. 30/31 in January. 27/29 in February. 28/31 in March and 14/13 (!) in April.
-
Anyone else picked Johnny Harris? I submitted that Herald Scotland obit now, a solo hit would put me at 88pts, tied for 4th. Still no daily double, sadly. Oh why didn't I pick Stirling Moss together with Peter Bonetti? That would be the lead now.
