So... What Games Are You Playing?
gcreptile replied to the_engineer's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I think, I've got to play Disco Elysium, and to a lesser extent, The Outer Worlds. I am now deeply in the phase of my life of wanting to play more than I actually can, while having the money to purchase new games. They just keep piling up. I guess, the time spent on deadpooling doesn't help.- 113 replies

I have received a few teams now. As with last year, I will not look into the mails until 1st of January. However, in the forum direct message menu you can see the first two lines of a recent message, so I can usually tell if it's a team submission or a question. Because of one such message I have to write the following here: Once submitted teams cannot be changed simply because other names become available. Only two exceptions: If your joker dies prematurely, you may choose another one. If you need new subs, you can add them at the end of the line.

Paul Volcker got me to 17. Looking at the list, there must be at least one more?

Thread for "Rock's first superstar drummer" and founder of Cream, Ginger Baker, turning 78 later this month. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginger_Baker He's still occasionally performing, in spite of decades of smoking, COPD since 2013, open heart surgery in 2016 and a fall in the same year. This is the most recent review I found: http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/culture/music/glasgow-jazz-festival-reviews-ginger-baker-tony-allen-the-bevvy-sisters-1-4487474 It features the descriptions "sick man", "evident frailty", and "how (?) he still manages to play at all".

I really liked the beard on him. Labour leaders should wear more beards, if they are men. Maybe they should also drink a little and eat meat occasionally. If they are women... they should have an idea of low-paid manual work. Give me a female bricklayer, or a cashier, or a bartender.

2019 General Election - 4 way Clusterfuck or a End to Brexit?
gcreptile replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Agreed... I see it in Germany (and somewhat in the USA), if the Left wants to do things out of the goodness of their heart, with long arguments, and as the idols of decency, that's not going to be enough. -
2019 General Election - 4 way Clusterfuck or a End to Brexit?
gcreptile replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
From the outside, I don't see a long Conservative majority as a certainty. With the Brexit question settled, things might readjust - but it depends on Labour changing, too. Labour's core problem, in my opinion, was not the socialism, but the waffling on Brexit. And the waffling was a consequence of the working class itself split on Brexit. There might have been a need for certainty, because to be honest, a second referendum would just have been another round in the circle. But then the Brexit, the Scottish question, new trade deals, etc..., this readjustment isn't over soon. And Labour could get ready to attack the inevitable frictions. And the Lib Dems are now completely out on the wilderness, too. Labour gets a little more breathing room on the social left flank. -
