DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
gcreptile replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I can access via Chrome now, too - if I turn off "safe browsing" in the settings. But I can not post, lol (writing this from Mozilla). Also, I might only be able to get access because my Mozilla is slightly outdated, and once I reboot the computer, it will update to the newest version and I suspect I lose access again - unless the security exception for the forum is saved. Edit: Now I can post in Chrome as well. Took ages at first, but now it works. -

Hmm, well, I can access the site with Mozilla, but not with Chrome. -
Quick update to correct for a small Doris Day mistake: New hits: Quentin Pongia, Herman Wouk Bobby Joe Maxwell is a non-obit, almost certainly. No changes in the other non-obits. Also, I forgot to mention another non-obit that happened a couple of weeks ago: Bishop Francis Quinn. That's a ton of non-obits... DDT has both good news (Pongia moves him into 4th) and bad news (Donbavand non-obit) - new scoreboard: 1 Death Impends 769 2 GCReptile 725 3 Cpt Chorizo 678 4 Devon Death Trip 672 5 Phantom of the Midway 657 6 msc 623 7 Banana 621 8 Joey Russ 620 9 Clorox Bleachman 610 10 drol 571 11 Sir Creep 511 12 Skinny Kiltrunner 482 13 Grim Up North 367 14 YoungWillz 297 15 Yorkshire Banker 230 16 Prophet 186 17 markb4 172 18 theoldlady 134 18 Gooseberry Crumble 134 20 Book 129 21 The mad hatter 117 21 Fixed Business 117 23 John Key 108 24 Deathray 95 25 The old crem 93 26 Pedro 67 90 27 Grave Danger 85 28 The Unknown Man 48 29 The Quim Reaper 33 30 Bibliogryphon 0

Germany getting zero points from the public, yet yielding last place to the very deserving United Kingdom was a perfect outcome, all things considered.

I think I preferred Norway in a fairly even field. I was glad to see the jury's rejection of their song being ..rejected... by the public. An interesting new procedure.

Well, then never google "shitting dick nipples"... ...I wonder if anyone has put shitting dick nipples on Donald Trump... -
Yes, I used the wiki DoB. Ah, now I remember there was an issue. What's your suggestion? I might just do another update this weekend, with Wouk, Pongia and possibly Bobby Joe Maxwell. Edit: I did find some Doris Day-related clunkers. Yes, I will be going with the 1922 DoB, I don't know what happened there. The update will come this weekend.

Yes, time for an update after these very busy recent days. The Hawke / Conway combo was chosen frequently, and although they only yield few points individually, the combo is nothing to sneeze at. Other hits are I.M.Pei, Brian Walden (another one of Gooseberry's left-field but successful unique hits!), Doris Day, and the now more distant hits of Le Duc Anh and Grand Duke Jean. These two were the only hits in almost 4 weeks! The jury is still out on Tommy Donbavand, Granville Coggs, Mary Stopes-Roe and Ezra Castro (Pancho Billa, who qualified because in contrast to Tyler Trent, was already notable BEFORE his terminal illness). Unfortunately, the jury seems to be in a bad mood... There was also one non-obit I hadn't noticed previously, I think, it must have been Representative Jean Price of Montana. The resulting scoreboard is this: 1 Death Impends 769 2 GCReptile 725 3 Cpt Chorizo 678 4 Phantom of the Midway 657 5 msc 623 6 Banana 621 7 Joey Russ 620 8 Clorox Bleachman 610 9 Devon Death Trip 602 10 drol 571 11 Sir Creep 511 12 Skinny Kiltrunner 412 13 Grim Up North 367 14 YoungWillz 297 15 Yorkshire Banker 230 16 Prophet 186 17 markb4 154 18 Gooseberry Crumble 134 19 Book 129 20 theoldlady 119 21 Fixed Business 117 22 The mad hatter 102 23 John Key 93 24 Deathray 92 25 Grave Danger 85 26 Pedro 67 72 27 The old crem 56 28 The Unknown Man 33 28 The Quim Reaper 33 30 Bibliogryphon 0 First reminder: The substitution period is still 6 weeks away, but maybe you can already start thinking about your 5 substitutions. As promised in the initial post, I will not participate.

I would just stick to your initial idea and keep it simple. Let the players find their room to improve.
