Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

Conductor Christoph von Dohnanyi shows up in good health at a concert: https://slippedisc.com/2024/04/a-rare-concert-sighting-of-christoph-von-dohnanyi/ He's 94 years old now and must have recovered well from that health crisis a couple of years ago - also mentioned in the article. -
Chris de Burgh "is happy if he gets to live another day" according to Germany's BILD: https://m.bild.de/unterhaltung/leute/leute/chris-de-burgh-bin-schon-froh-wenn-ich-morgen-noch-am-leben-bin-87858114.bildMobile.html But actually, he seems to be doing quite well at now 75.

Dozing off at court: https://politicalwire.com/2024/04/15/what-trump-is-doing-in-the-courtroom/ There might be a non-zero chance that this trial, which, in the grand scheme of things, is the least of all the possible crimes that he might face trial for, is the one that brings him down. Would be fitting though - the hush money to a pornstar story... This is a simple narrative, easy to understand, that he couldn't delay - because it's too small a case. He'll be a convicted felon. But even more, he might be forced to be on public display for hours. He might not be able to distract the audience with speeches or insults.

That viral marketing for the new Fallout series on Amazon Prime is a bit much for me.

Ah well, it's a game of probability. You just have to pick likely candidates and hope that 2-3 of them actually die. But yeah, last month showed that there's no 100% pick.

Banana's captain of last month, DJ Isaac Cool has died: https://www.myjoyonline.com/starr-fms-dj-isaac-cool-passes-on/ He'd lasted so long with his terrible injuries, you'd have thought he would be in recovery.

I doubt it's even possible if the nerve system is connected. It must be an existence we cant really imagine.

I know, it's controversial and it will always be. And he was not squeaky-clean. I do wonder why "If I Did it" exists, the deflection theory makes sense to me.
-
Ahem... I also kind of think he didn't do it, but he nevertheless wanted to have the attention on him, as a sort of cover-up. I've heard the theory that he might have protected on of his elder children from the first marriage. A cover-up for a different crime might also be plausible. I don't know, in my mind, he doesn't look like a murderer. I can totally believe that Bill Cosby did it, the crimes were hiding in plain sight. I never got that vibe from Simpson. His former Twitter page made me think that he was more of a "player", a more suitable character for a small-time (or medium-time) criminal. You'd have to be a really big sociopath to have such a light-hearted persona in spite of having committed a murder.

German A-list actor Til Schweiger (International audiences may have seen him in Inglorious Basterds) suffers from sepsis and is hospitalised: https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/til-schweiger-leidet-offenbar-an-sepsis-a-392f145a-bc47-48de-990e-a03da4a45b95 He has an open leg wound since last August.

Dead Toleman! Founder of the Toleman F1 racing team Ted Toleman has died yesterday after some health problems noted by (of course!) Octopus of Odstock. In fact, most players of the game ignored OoO's post, which is a shame, because they are among the most knowledgeable on this site. The Toleman team wasn't really successful in their four years, but they gave Ayrton Senna his first chance in the Formula One, and were later purchased by Benetton, now the Alpine F1 Team. wannamaker makes up some ground (so half of my prediction in the previous post came true), and msc puts the last scoreless match-up on the board. I choose Esther Rantzen and Kris Hallenga.

Hard to tell with the dementia footballers. Two years ago, I filled up empty slots with the dementia folks, but Jimmy Calderwood is still alive. Gordon McQueen died last year. Tony Claypole already died in 2022, but didn't obit... These are tough calls...

Well, that gave me the idea to walk around the world, only, somebody already did that (as much as possible), Briton Rosie Swale-Pope, now 77 years old: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_Swale-Pope

Ah, well, in the end I ignored him as I like to do with prisoners. But he is a DDP pick, so let's see if he gets a QO. With the war going on, he surely will though, imo.

I have a feeling I should rather update the Death By Numbers again, but what can I do? It's two Cup updates in one day! DevonDeathTrip scores with Welsh rugby player Martin Jones. It seems like I missed that hit since the articles came out on April 2nd already, but then, I can't do the googling of the roughly 20 obscure names in this round each day.... I do want to check at least every couple of days though. Well, Martin Jones seems to have died 72 hours after that fundraiser for him, which happened on March 29th. This puts the date of death on the 1st of April. Martin Jones was a prop for two of Wales' biggest clubs - and while he didn't have a Wikipedia page in any language (as far as I can tell, there isn't one in Cymru...) rugby is one of these British pastimes that makes even the players in the background receive attention. Neath RFC and the Cardiff Blues were both championship winning clubs, which is where I would draw the line. Players in amateur clubs would not be accepted, but Jones was, and DDT gets some distance over SirCreep. Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka is indeed dead. He was an academic, a literary scientist, who also wrote short stories and books himself and received quite a few awards for it. It wasn't yet enough for a wikipedia page, which is usually my go-to check for fame, but Deka won, for example, the Sahitya Academy Award, a national prize for the promotion of the original Indian languages. Deka was still active and receiving awards as of a couple of months ago, but max_bossetti noted the hospitalisation late last month, and in comparison to a lot of other Indian names, he died quickly. It's probably no consolation for Cpt. Hemlock that Abdul Nazer Masdani has left the hospital, as max_bossetti is pulling away a bit.
