Also continuing last night's discussion, I think some of those dropouts reflect that deadpooling has almost become some sort of full-time job, or at least a December full-time job. There's so much information on this forum to absorb... I could imagine that this "professionalisation" is a step too far especially for those who "could have been a contender".

If Ian Toothill doesn't obit he'll be the biggest non-obit (number of people who picked him) ever, beating Michel Delpech.
-
Is there a submission deadline? I'll send a team once I'm back home, i.e. tomorrow afternoon.
-
Hm. A miss for my Theme Team.

This feels like a streamlined collection of people. It feels as if there is less diversity at the margin. I mean, Ricketts, Elias and Cryne in the Drop 40... Maybe because of two reasons (or actually some more): 1. The forum is getting more and more dominant. 2. Uniques were getting less important. The Drop 40 more... like Cryne should have been on my main team instead of Timerman. I also wonder whether Shameless killed a couple of Theme Teams.

Also a big Thank You! from me.

No Diana Rots and no Crossing The Styx. Bucket of Blood adequately strong. But he fell for Ami Brown.
-
Ha! The Pelican DID pick Hector Timerman. I should have kept Patrick Cryne in that slot. Glad to see The B-Team continuing the unique streak with Dawn Wilson.

Elizabeth Lee Wurtzel, literary one-hit-wonder à la Elizabeth Gilbert, has breast cancer: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jan/20/cancer-elizabeth-wurtzel I've already had her on my longlist since 2015 for her health/psychological problems.

Or Jenny Diski who said that treatment had damaged her lungs so much that she was more likely to die from that than from cancer.

The weekend hole... there'll be no obit on him tomorrow but maybe Monday. If not then, then maybe after his funeral, but then... Bad for the Mirror QO: He was no cancer mum, or girl.

The Star (not the Daily Star) had an obit up 18 hrs ago: https://www.thestar.co.uk/our-towns-and-cities/sheffield/tributes-paid-to-magnificent-sheffielder-who-became-first-person-with-cancer-to-scale-mount-everest-1-8967112 Will be interesting... it's possibly that he falls into the "weekend hole", but let's see...

It's very suspicious if the patient just can't shake it off. That was the main reason I put Bobby Zarin's chance of dying at 100%. Val Kilmer is slowly moving into that territory.
-
I was about to post some suspicious pictures of him yesterday...
-
A death so early in the year gives a high chance of a QO. And has there ever been A FFBI pick with BBC regional obit but no QO?
-
Unlucky times for him. His wife Wendi Deng-Murdoch might be a Chinese spy...

Ami Brown "cancer-free": http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/01/18/alaskan-bush-people-star-cancer-free-after-being-given-three-percent-chance-to-live.html GROAAANNNNN.....

He looks terrible. The skeletal hands remind me of Maureen O'Hara at the Oscars.

Thanks, second leftover hit by Shameless, after Bobby Zarin. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/my-beautiful-wife-lost-cancer-11860062 Let's see how many of them were picked by Diana Rots this time.

Complications in the cancer fight of Genesis P-Orridge - tour cancelled: http://themusic.com.au/news/all/2018/01/16/legendary-uk-act-cancels-australian-tour-due-to-ill-health/ Probably my most aggressive transfer from the main team to the B Team, as I really expected him to lose the fight.

Laura Vickery who looks like, and probably was, the person picked by Shameless II under the name Laura Saull, is dead: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/husband-open-letter-wife-cancer-dies-age-29-sam-laura-vickery-bradford-on-avon-bath-a8163596.html
