Now, if everyone has a "safe" team and a "risky" team, then last year's trend of the Drop 40 getting more "sophisticated" (less name recognition, more fringe-fame-cancer-people) will be reversed. I'm sure if everyone forces themselves to pick 40 or 60 names instead of 20, then name recognition will, again, increase in importance.
-
True :). Though I was a little sorry for taking away the unique hit with Julia Perez from Death Impends. This time, my B-Team is excessively safe, it's the attempt to get 20 hits that I suggested before. All the risk is in my main team, a no-holds-barred frontal assault.
-
I bet the chance of unique hits will decrease even more with all those B-Teams.
-
Teams sent, good luck everyone and a happy new year.

Oh Great! I think I picked him somewhere else too!

Wonderful!

Just because I found the name and have never seen him being mentioned here before: Martin Cooper, the "father of the cell-phone", 89: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Cooper_(inventor)

Does anyone else disappear in a YouTube chain of her videos everytime you do research on her? Also, the best thing she's done in the past 30 years was Sharknado 5.

Did anyone watch the FFA Cup Final this year in its entirety? How was the ...post-game ceremony? Does anyone have video?

Hey what about George Lazenby?
-
Aah, someone else saw/heard the podcast.... Sounded alright back then, but yes, the recent silence is ominous. In my opinion, a better-than-50:50 punt. Maybe 60:40? As a 10-pointer, he's probably my second-biggest question mark (the biggest question mark is, in my opinion, such a DDT pick...). Still I recall him saying that Game Of Thrones is keeping him alive. The final season is planned to air in late 2018...

Doesn't mean much when they also accept "Accetped".

I currently share my initials with Gooseberry Crumble (gc).

I'm just a little sad that my first sub is a cancer dad.
-
I gave him three jokers. Erica Garner was nr. 2. But I'm thinking I should have waited another day to submit because of two more punts.
-
True Crime writer Helen Garner is now ready to die happily. However there's no hidden talk about cancer à la Thomas Keneally in this article: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/dec/30/helen-garner-i-used-to-feel-spiteful-because-i-never-won-prizes-now-i-can-die-happy

So How's Your 2018 Shortlist Looking?
gcreptile replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I bet he didn't pick Nevin because of his failure with Gary Haggarty...a process I did not repeat. I would really like to know what a "me-pick" is. In my opinion, a "typical" msc pick would be the second person you mentioned in your pm. Though I guess "typical" means the kind of gamble that person is willing to take. -

I've just tried the alt.obituaries deadpool for the first time. I've probably erred on the side of "too safe" regarding obitability, but I'm not in the mood to argue. As such, it was tough to come up with 40 names. About 5 of them are real outside chances and 5 other names I will probably not pick again. Edit: Yes, everything got accepted. Means it was probably too safe, no Leah Bracknell, for example. Edit nr. 2: Ha, Carsten Mohren was a hit?? Oh, I was MUCH too safe. -
Just so I get this right... - I may pick people already picked by others, but not in the same slot - However each slot is free again in a new month - I may not pick people I've already picked in the previous month. - However I may pick the same person in 5 of 12 months per year - I may submit my monthly list at any time, but the picks only score in said month

1) Marieke Vervoort 2) Jessica Falkholt 3) Johnny Hubbard 4) Bobby Zarin 5) Lou Henson Edit: January List...

Team submitted - twice, so to say. The second one is in alphabetic order. Good luck everyone!

I thought the token gay slot moved between Pierre Cardin and James Randi?
