As Book can attest, I miserably failed at Carly Simon's 'Nobody does it better'. But my Sinead O'Connor was quite good many years ago. -
Ian Holm cannot die yet. Tom Skerritt is first, or so the movie said. John Hurt (25th of January, 2017) Harry Dean Stanton (15th of September 2017) Tom Skerritt Ian Holm Yaphet Kotto Veronica Cartwright Sigourney Weaver (two movies later) Edit: Well, Tom Skerritt gives no indication of dying anytime soon...

So How's Your 2018 Shortlist Looking?

Actually, I was technically wrong back then. Hallyday and King Michael were on my prospective B-Team roster. Only Hvorostovsky was on my main team. I think I'm going to mess it up again. -
I think it's better if a person can be picked by several people. Lest it turns into a game of musical chairs.

He misunderstood, she was merely rehearsing her one hit.
-
Also, wow, Chris Rea looks older than Willie Nelson.
-
Hey, just because David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Joey Feek, Glen Campbell and Dmitri Hvorostovsky do it, doesn't mean that everybody does it.

Chris Rea or Jimmy Greaves? -
Val Kilmer might stay on. Shannen Doherty will not. Possibly Dilip Kumar. Possibly Gordon Banks and Ian St. John on pure name recognition. Though I suspect that one will die the year they drop out, like Helen Fawkes and Daisy Berkowitz. Jimmy Greaves is missing. Apart from that, Joey's list is probably 35/40 correct, at least.

Bobby Zarin?

With Hallyday dead msc gains 43 points on me. 46pts left.... So the death of Peter Lorimer would result in a tie!
-
Another double hit with Michael and Hallyday. 6/10 after not quite 7 months. So... on course. Bush Sr., Dilip Kumar, Billy Graham and Hutton Gibson remain. Just Barys Kit left for Garn.

Donald Trump rejects the honor: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42121402 I wonder who's it going to be instead. I'd say Pope Francis. Other choices: Angela Merkel, Wladimir Putin (again), Robert Mugabe???, Harvey Weinstein???? It doesn't say that you need to have done good, just that you were the dominant person of the year.

I've lost three names since then, so far. -
Also down to three survivors but Ben Suisala didn't obit. The other three are all dicey choices.

Ha, high and probably too high praise! I am unable to do a lot of research this month. There will have to be quite an effort after Christmas. King Michael's death opens up some welcome space but my shortlist is also getting awfully conventional. Now that Nicky Holloway had an improvement. I'm not really happy with it and might have to be forced to pick one or two Shameless types. -
Congratulations Sean! (DDP Top Ten next year, in my opinion)
-
My initial assessment of the list was 20 hits. So I have to keep going. De Cuellar.
-
RIP... lasted quite a while. Indeed an interesting historical curiosity. Two WW2 heads of state remain: Simeon of Bulgaria and the Dalai Lama of Tibet.

When I saw that picture a couple of days ago, I thought it was her last living update. Then she announced that event. Considering we haven't seen a recent picture for months it's all a bit puzzling.

Interesting. Not a death sentence yet but Daisy Berkowitz also made my list after his chemo regimen had to be changed. Pretty much 12 months ago.
