    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

A name I should keep secret, but I want everyone to watch this person because I will be delighted if he gets a Telegraph obit: http://www.bassfan.com/docktalk_article/18517/dee-thomas-battling-lung-cancer#.WZSkr1FJaUk Dee Thomas, "the father of flipping", 80, angling legend, has lung cancer and has been on oxygen for at least 5 years.

    DDP 2018 Town Hall

In the absence of Spade, DDT is the closest thing to an incumbent there is. But there are probably around 10 likely title contenders from the outset. Personally, I've learned to ban prisoners from my teams. Even Kevin Murray doesn't overcome my disappointment with Catherine Nevin. Plus, there's Rena Salmon and Brian Reader. Not to mention Gary Haggarty and Scott Thorson, or ...that disgraced nonagenarian US telecom executive...forgot the name. I also want to get better at picking those "2nd year with cancer" types. It's not enough to pick those with terminal cancer who announced it the year before. You can't expect all of those Simon Ricketts/Stefan Karls/Gord Downies/Leah Bracknells to die. You also need to pick those who are likely to have a downturn - like Connie Johnson. My pick of Daisy Berkowitz was a miss in this regard. Edit: This implies that I won't pick everyone who was diagnosed with terminal cancer this year. To be precise, I might not pick Olivia Newton-John.

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Would surprise me now if she obited that late in the year. She doesn't (edit: didn't) blog, or fundraise for others. She was at Hallwang Clinic by the way. It's no miracle cure after all, though she outlasted her prognosis (6-12 months) by a month.

Oh it'll be back. He won't have much of 2018. If he and the other heavyweights of 2017 make it, I predict, we'll see the first team with 20 hits next year.

The way things are going, I might steal that Top 5 slot from you after all. But not with my main team! The B-Team has Colin Meads and I think Herbert Kretzmer could be dead any day. I'm getting to the point where I say "No more deaths this year - I take it as it is."

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

8-year old girl Evie Clark is going to walk 12 miles this Saturday to raise cancer funds in honor of her friend Natalie Daniells who died from cancer this January: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/people/gosport-girl-is-walking-12-miles-in-memory-of-natalie-daniells-1-8090265 Is the national press going to pick up the story? Shameless could really use those 12 points.
  25. Update: None of the people I previously envisioned to die, have died. Instead, there were Glen Campbell, Laurie Brokenshire, Jerome Golmard, Kevin Murray and an obit for Jagraj Singh. The result of this is a change at the top, but basically a race between two teams with basically equal chance of winning. 1. David Quantick's Showbiz Pals (182,74) (+4) 2. Golden Slumbers (182,44) (+1) 3. Still Life (180,945) (-1) 4. Thomas Jefferson Survives (179,54) (-3) 5. To Kill A Gabor Sister (173,33) (---) 6. The Love Boat (168,88) (---) 7. drollercoaster (166,505) (+1) 8. Deceased Hose (164,75) (+1) 9. Poochie Died on the Way back to his Home Planet (163,55) (-2) 10. Dead Ends (158,105) (+3) 11. Heading Nowhere (157,84) (-1) 12. The B-Team (155,42) (+5) 13. The Living End (155,39) (-2) 13. Day in the Death (155,39) (+2) 15. Crossing The Styx (155,06) (+1) 16. Buckets of Blood (154,81) (-4) 17. New Years and Drinks All Night (153,11) (-3) 18. I will not die, it's the World that will end! (149,83) (---) 19. I'm sorry for your trouble (149,745) (+1) 20. Dead as a Doornail (148,49) (-1) Most of the changes are based on whether teams had, or not had, Glen Campbell. DQSP continues to have everything going for them, with the barest of obits, defying probabilities. Other big winner was the B-Team, which is doing ridiculously well and is now ahead of TJS in the virtual "official" scoreboard. Oh, if I had picked John Wetton instead of Nick Boles.... The B-Team is also the only team in the virtual Top 10 without hits from the Obituary vault.
