Next Years Deathlist Creativity Thread

Nice list, Predictor, I like the internationality. Tensin Gyatso (Dalai Lama) maybe, as well. Ginger Baker Lewis Gilbert Mikis Theodorakis (now confined to wheelchair) -
Oh, I meant that you're out of the title race, not out of the competition. I want this one additional factor for the player: Is the benefit of a FFBI pick worth the risk of a non-obit? I like to see people go risky (Kobayashi, Perez...). And if one of your gambles doesn't work, you shouldn't be entirely out of it, if the rest of your picks is just so damn good. Three FFBI picks allows you to go for one or two riskier names, in the hopes of getting a unique hit, but if doesn't work out, you should still be able to win with the other picks. If you'd allow only one FFBI pick, everyone would pick that 10/12-pointer that is sure of obiting (Lisa Magill & Mark Sims - though that turned out to be riskier than anticipated).
-
Though Johnson is ALSO a fringe person, being that her brother is one of Australia's most prominent actors (nationally, not internationally).
-
I would count only those who make it into the obituary vault, if the future host decides to keep it. So the FFBI picks will be defined by the host only, at the time of their write-up, that is long after they've been picked. Adds additional risk. And the number of three is enough so that, if one or two don't obit, you are not totally out of it, but almost. Could be very exciting...
-
What about a rule permitting each team to pick a maximum of three famous-for-being-ill types?
-
Well, I didn't succeed in getting these picks banned in spite of the shamelessness of it all. I probably only made it worse. And indeed, if I'd field it again, I'd probably win the Theme Team League again, without any competition (boring). If I'd field it, I'd also want to do better than last time, and if Shameless 2018 did even better than Shameless 2017, then it might actually be one of the contenders, which I think is fairly unhealthy for the whole competition.
-
I though Carter's success was down to Keytruda. Nevertheless, immunotherapy could work for a while, though I think that part of it is a placebo effect. But then, Bracknell's shamanistic healing might have already soaked up all her placebo "reservoir".

Shameless update, if you care (I'm basically emptying my vault - not planning on submitting it a third time): Aundrea Bannatyne - tweeted that she's lying dying, listening to Ed Sheeran Gemma Nuttall - went to Hallwang Clinic and they healed her, miraculously, very interesting to see if this actually works Bobby Zarin - miraculously recovering, indeed the Monty Brinson of 2018, probably dying in January as well Emma Houlston - still nothing Cheyann Shaw/Clark/Tunt - posting cute dog videos on YouTube. Healed Heidi Loughlin - doing chemo, cancer under control, ok for now Leanne Hock - was last seen getting an award for Best Mom and raising money for alternative treatment in Mexico Sophie Sabbage - bad news last week, going down in a couple of months Juan Pedro Franco - has lost 218 kilos of weight, good for him! Still on oxygen, though. The organs were tortured pretty badly. Laura Saull - heavy chemo, in pain, going down eventually There's 1-2 more hits coming, I guess.

"Miraculous recovery": http://people.com/tv/jill-zarin-bobby-cancer-hospital-release/ Eh, good for him. -
True! So if Meads dies, then Bert needs 2 out of Forsyth, Michael or Cryne.... That's a 50:50 chance I'd say. But I don't know how badly Cryne is doing. Edit: And with Meads, DI wins with either Booth, or Michael, or both. So the DI vs Bert situation is kind of a Cryne vs. Booth duel (though there is a less likely, but possible second way to win for Bert via Forsyth).
-
Let me think.... of Spade's team, in my opinion, Bracknell, Stefansson and Elias will die this year. I'm not sure about Meads and Nevin. But Bert and DI have them as well, so they don't matter. Downie and Bracknell don't matter either. Gilbert and Bradley definitely won't die this year, I would say. It puts Spade at 165 points (sans Meads, Nevin, Gilbert, Downie, Bradley) With the same hits and those already in, Golden Slumbers gets to 163, so he needs one out of Ricketts, Forsyth, Michael, Nevin or Cryne. Nevin doesn't matter. But Ricketts is doing too well, reducing Bert's outs to Forsyth, Michael or Cryne. Ok - not the worst position, actually. DI gets to 159 points. So he also needs one out of Booth, Bradley, Downie, Meads, Michael or Nevin. Against Spade, Bradley doesn't matter, neither do Downie, Meds and Nevin. Giving DI the outs of Booth and Michael. But since Bert has Michael as well, DI needs Tony Booth. Not the worst situation either. But less likely to win than Bert. Hmm.... maybe I was a bit premature, but Spade does work his magic sometimes... Edit: Have to analyse The Dead Cow as well, sorry... one second... Ok, 138 points with the core people, sans Downie, James, Booth, Fujimori, Michael, Spiridonov and Campbell. Downie doesn't matter, so it's 6 outs of whom he'll need to get 28 pts (plus maybe 8-9 more in case either Meads or Nevin die - so let's see he needs to get 37 points out of 6 people). The most likely are Booth, Michael and Campbell. But Michael puts Bert at 171 and DI at 167. Then Booth, who puts DI at 176. Leaving The Dead Cow with 4 outs to get 176-138-9-8=21 pts. Campbell is 9 pts, James is 10 pts, so he needs Fujimori (or Spiridonov). The Dead Cow needs to run a clean slate.

You're going to pull this off again, aren't you? For some reason, I have no doubts about Brokenshire obiting.

The cold limbs make me think that if he dies this year, it will be of a heart attack rather than Alzheimer's.

This is where it begins (Time's victory), watch it...

Nawalny is now the earliest entry on my longlist still living. No. 7 or something like that.
-
Apparently not... He was mentioned in the Drummers thread though.

I think I have one of my 5 categories, should I win the Scavenger Hunt Deadpool after all... -
He has a good PR team (he doesn't write his own tweets). So I'd rather believe the more pessimistic news.

Was a reserve for my Poker Deadpool team. I rejected him for his obitability. After my non-obits of Michel Delpech and Jackie Storrar in 2016, maybe I've erred on the wrong side this year.
-
That is an obit??? Still no year of birth... Edit: Though I realize now that the rules say that the death announcements count. Hmm, that's almost like that Michel Delpech "obit" in the Guardian last year.
-
Oh, soon there'll be 8 if not 9 on it.
