I like the idea, but I was a bit unaware of this competition. I could try to submit a team this week.

Yes, but only briefly.

Wow, what a miss for all of us. -
Very unlucky US swimmer Andy Coan, at one point faster than Mark Spitz, dead of liver cancer at 59: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/obituaries/article139764088.html

Curse you, NNDB! I replace him with Janet Yellen. Edit: I noticed NNDB has a couple of errors. Will check...

I'm actually relieved I have the tie-breaker, as Rover's team is really not bad. Emma Morano and Glen Campbell could very well be dead by tomorrow... Edit: Martin McGuinness would have been on my team for April. The good names are all dying too fast.

Well, this is turning out to be a bit of a bust. Also congrats to myself for swapping out Peter Esterhazy.... My new team may start in 3 weeks. But so far, I really don't see many locks. Fewer than last year (but then these locks weren't really locks after all). Well, King Michael and BIlly Graham again, I guess. Ok, Noriega and Bouteflika, hmm...

Kirk Douglas

I think he was a worthy inclusion. He's a cult name for certain people, like, say, Howard Marks or Jimmy Snuka who would both have fit.

RIP Mr. Head of the Shadow World Government... As I said here before, I expected his death this year. But I'm unsure whether I actually picked him in anything. The List needs one more hit this month to be on track for my 20/50 predicition.

Biggest german news source? Well, the Daily Mail equivalent is Bild.de. The more "official" and reliable source might be SPIEGEL online, which might be most similar to the Guardian, except with much higher circulation. We have no equivalent to the BBC. Our public TV isn't that big in the online news department. One could also choose the FAZ, the german equivalent of prestigious conservative papers like the Times or the Telegraph.

@ Captain Chorizo: Thumbs up for mentioning Scott Walker.

Darren Sawchuk is now dead: http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/record-store-owner-tragically-hip-cover-musician-passes-away-from-cancer-1.3331047 MSC's reserve team picked him for the DDP. I guess the obit would be more likely if Downie had died first. -
David D'Amato, subject of the critically acclaimed (Sundance Festival, Oscars long list) New Zealand documentary Tickled, dead at 55: http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2017/03/david-d-amato-subject-of-tickled-has-died.html He supposedly tricked (?) young men into making fetish tickling videos. The documentary aimed to show Mr. D'Amato, not as a monster, but as a person.

At the time of her death, I had her obitability already under 50%. So the boost is massive, with her being a unique hit. He's at 2nd place right now with 169,73pts. -
Ouch. Didn't he release a new album not too long ago? Anyway, I guess if I want to win, there cannot be any more "hits" in here.
-
Damn, I was also sure he was the 3rd hit for the list. Big miss. RIP to one of THE legends of music. But yes, he was 90. A surprise he lasted that long, though I don't know whether he also lived the rock'n'roll lifestyle. I'm surprised there wasn't a Chuck Berry vs. Little Richard poll.
