Just last week, for a reason I can't remember, I looked up the japanese Royal House. One of the princesses was/is in Peru for an "official visit". I assume the release belongs to a certain kind of deal. These countries seem to have some form of stronger connection.

    Bruce Willis

Maybe worth pointing towards the timeline of Monty Python member Terry Jones who also had aphasia / frontotemporal dementia. He no longer gave interviews in 2016 and lost the ability to speak more than a few words in 2017. Dead in January 2020, so less than 3 years. Bruce Willis' final movie, as far as I can tell was filmed in Summer 2021. Looks to me like 2024 is the beginning of the final period. But, and yes, I hereby declare that my 2024 teams will not have him, I think 2025 is going to be the year.

Surely everybody knows Duran Duran? You don't need to know the name, imo. As long as you know a bit of context.

    Advent game 2023

Thanks all! I don't like to post first in these games because I fear that my clock is wrong and I posted too early. So I have to rely on scoring with the 4th or 5th pick. Glad it worked and that there was this gap between Shane and all the others.

Oh nice, however, it still needs an english language obit. Something should come up, I guess. But definitely the first fatality of the game.

Edit: I should point out that he officiated the wedding of Harry and Meghan, so 100% slam-dunk oibt.

    Advent game 2023

Heh, yeah, I expected an immediate death among all the talent. I knew it would be a battle for Ryan Minor, Shane MacGowan and Jimmy Carter - and that these would actually be the best names. But Ryan Minor NOW seems more like a "weeks left" hospice, not a "days left". And Jimmy didn't immediately die after the funeral (of course, he didn't). This makes all the other names better, maybe especially mine, but we'll see.

    Death By Numbers 2023

I'm short of time today, but recent events do call for an update. We've had few but massive hits. There was Henry Kissinger, the upscale warlord from Franconia. Just a few months ago I visited his birth house. The surrounding area, an alley full of flowers, might actually be the best part of that town. There was Shane MacGowan, for me the deadpooling wildcard personified. He struck late, but did in the end, with interesting consequences. We have Sandra Day O'Connor, first female Supreme Court justice. She occasionally swung both ways, but not when it mattered, and afterwards, she said that she regretted her Bush vs Gore decision. But some things cant be forgiven. Finally, Terry Venables was also a hit. My memories of the 1996 Euro are a bit hazy though. So I don't recall the name. All these hits were picked by quite a few players. Chris Stone, an Australian rugby player-turned-businessman-turned Belgian first husband, is a very prominent non-obit. He would have been the compensation for those who didn't pick Shane MacGowan. But as he didn't obit, the MacGowan fans are creeping up the scoreboard with RadGuy and An Fear Beag now within one hit of the top.
