Clive James credits a new drug with his 'unreasonably well' health: http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2015/aug/23/clive-james-new-cancer-drug-has-him-unreasonably-well-and-still-writing

And he's dead now. The illness was cancer: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/199825#.VdrWZLLtmko

Ah, something else. If the committee would like to attract a new mascot, they might want to start picking George R. R. Martin. I mean, his fans have been afraid of his sudden death for a couple of years already. Edit: About Lynne Stewart, I don't know. Prisoners (and their lawyers) aren't very reliable about their health. There are tons of currently or recently imprisoned teasers, like Hadzic, Seselj, Derby-Lewis, Scott Thorson, still alive.

I think Jimmy Carter will get some kind of record for being the most picked person in deadpooling ever. Also, I think the Deathlist should include Hugh Hefner next year. He's interesting enough and about to turn 90. He's sort of the type the committee goes for.

There's a new officially oldest man to add to your lists, Yasutaro Koide, 112 years old: http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2015/08/21/national/nagoya-resident-recognized-as-oldest-living-man-at-112/

Another voice for a British actors thread. I mean, it isn't Hollywood, but still the second-most important western national film scene. Bollywood also has its own thread, after all. In general, I would only create single-people threads for those who actually have the potential to generate news. Not sure if Charlotte Rae is in that category. Many old people, while valuable for deadpooling, have retreated from the public eye, so a thread for them is not going to create much discussion.

Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali, also known as Hajji Mutazz, has been killed by a U.S. drone strike: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/08/isil-command-hajji-mutazz-killed-iraq-air-strike-150821191213398.html He was the deputy leader of ISIL, and the german article that first caught my attention called him "ISIS' nr.2" Is ISIS' nr.2 the new Al-Qaeda's nr.3? -
Russell Poole dies of a heart attack: http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/6670468/notorious-big-murder-detective-russell-poole-dies He was the cop who investigated the Notorious B.I.G. killing. He suspected that the investigation came to a halt because he got too close to the truth, i.e. the possible involvement of Suge Knight.

He says he believes that Barack Obama is "white inside" not that he himself is white inside. Ah, that's what I get for trying to flesh out my own post in a half-assed way. I guess my brain took that short-cut because Morrissey has occasionally been part of the Britain for the British crowd.

Is she even alive?

I try to compare the case with Louis Stokes whose cancer was in lung and brain, and he had the same age. Stokes died a month after the diagnosis. He had already left a board of directors or something like that in 2014, so I guess he wasn't in the best of health to begin with. Carter has been fairly robust until now. So I guess there's a reasonable chance for him to see 2016, but it's not certain (yeah, really a risky prediction there...).

Yes, that's what I wondered as well. The next interviewer should ask him more clearly about this.

David Prior, B-movie directing legend, known for Deadly Prey, Killzone, or Killer Workout, has died "after a long battle with fading health" at 59: http://www.avclub.com/article/rip-david-prior-direct-video-legend-224012

Surprisingly open interview: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/aug/19/morrissey-interview-larry-king-cancer-depression-barack-obama Apparently, he has Barrett's cancer. He's also depressed and white inside.

Though I wonder how the press would pick it up. I mean, death of cancer isn't suspicious enough to warrant searching one's hard drive. So the deathpooler would have to write a good-bye letter instead. Someone else must read it then, and then report it to the press. Presumably, this good-bye letter needs to be very detailed so that this person realizes the potential. An easier way would be to announce the cancer diagnosis on this forum, but of course, that might cost unique pick points.

Egon Bahr, most important aide of german chancellor Williy Brandt and instrumental in enacting the conciliatory policy towards the Communist bloc, has died at 93: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/08/20/german-ostpolitik-pioneer-egon-bahr-dies-at-3-guided-talks-between-east-west/

My pick Egon Bahr is dead: http://www.12newsnow.com/story/29839300/german-ostpolitik-pioneer-egon-bahr-dies-at-93 Fairly predictable since he was constantly in talk shows for the past 30 years, but stopped doing so mid-2014. He also looked old like dirt for a couple of years.
-
Sad. Initially, I wasn't aware that this guy was already 79 years old. Of course, that made a recovery extremely unlikely.

I see it as post #50 in the 20th Century American Sitcoms thread.
