Canadian Ice Hockey Legends Bryan Murray and Charlie Henry talking about their cancers just before their entrance into the Ottawa Hall of Fame: http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/hockey/ottawa-sports-hall-beckons-for-murray-and-henry Charlie Henry has pancreatic cancer by the way, but he's apparently not very well known outside of Canada.

New health update from his son: http://www.wltx.com/story/life/faith/2015/06/01/at-96-how-is-billy-graham-doing-update-from-his-son/28315159/ Not really insightful, probably because there is this whole faith industry built around him and Franklin Graham is using his father as a marketing tool ("He still lives because Christianity is being attacked"). I mean, those daily articles from him, they're (probably) ghost-written as well.

In January, top fashion hairdresser David Palin died by drowning in a stream. Now it turns out that he did so high on meth, wearing just a rubber vest and pants: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3110684/Top-fashion-hairdresser-dead-stream-breaking-tourist-attraction-wearing-rubber-bondage-gear-high-crystal-meth.html

I didn't know that Chuck Blazer had colon cancer... He also has an interesting blog: http://www.vocativ.com/underworld/crime/chuck-blazer-showed-off-his-lavish-life-in-a-personal-blog/ I couldn't yet find anything about the cancer there. But apparently, he's currently recovering from a cancer-related operation.

Indeed! Hard to eat with a throat full of cancer! BTW val looks so much older than 55 in that new pic and certain one to keep an eye on in the next few years. I doubt he has years left in him.He looks so frail and thin and the scarves show he clearly has issues with his throat.I reckon that he is lying and does have throat cancer. The chin reminds me of Roger Ebert who (also?) had throat cancer.

I briefly started to compile a list of 20 people for an internet-related theme team just so that I could include pewdiepie. Yes, Let's Players could be here as well, or famous E-Sports-people, and these Koreans who die after playing three days without sleep. Ah, these are good to know. The designer of Pong, Allan Alcorn is "only" 67, which is probably the age where it starts to become interesting. I knew there are older people for the console games, and especially some japanese people. The other subtitles are also good, maybe better... but the South Park reference ("how can you kill that which has no life?") immediately came to my mind. By the way, I also like to play video games. Edit: Actually, I'd welcome it if the admins change the subtitle to Davey Jones' Locker's suggestion.

Perhaps they're chums? Possibly, I let my mind be guided by stereotypes though. I thought the cat gave it away. In the second obit, it's the dog, though it's not quite as clear.

Michele Wrightson, aka, Michele Brand, a contributor to the first all-women underground comics anthology is dead: http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2015/06/comics-a-m-artist-michele-wrightson-passes-away/ And on the same page it is noted that turkish political cartoonist Bedri Koraman died at 87. He used comics to report on the junta trials after the country's military coup of 1960.

Alzheimer's deals with forgetfulness whereas dimentia deals with figments of one's imagination, a false reality. My mother recently passed and suffered from both. Forgetting to bathe oneself for a week is Alzheimer's, talking to me when I visit thinking I'm her dead brother, that's dimentia. What elder abuse did BB King suffer? That's news to me. SC Thanks for the explanation. Well, BB's daughter suspected elder abuse by his manager: http://www.spin.com/2015/05/bb-king-hospitalized-daughter-elder-abuse/

And another update: http://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/altkanzler-auf-intensivstation-kohl-geht-es-den-umstaenden-entsprechend-gut-1.2504502(link in german) His office says that he's doing ok "considering the circumstances". His party was unaware of his hospital stay, so his people are still isolating him from the outside world like they have been doing for years.

So with Helmut Kohl's troubles, I decided to check on some other members of my team. The Liliane Bettencourt case is now over and she was in fact being exploited (another case of elder abuse, like BB King and Harper Lee): http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32923006 She suffers from dementia and Alzheimer's (Is there a difference? I honestly don't know.). But then I guess people can survive biologically like that for years.

Update... "Der Spiegel" has learned that Kohl has been in intensive care for three weeks already and his state is "critical" (kritisch): http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/helmut-kohl-liegt-seit-drei-wochen-auf-intensivstation-a-1036754.html(link in german) Edit: An english article with the same information: http://www.thelocal.de/20150602/helmut-kohl-in-intensive-care-for-3-weeks Apparently, there's going to be a statement later on.

Has Danny Cipriani ever actually done anything on a rugby pitch? He's famous for getting dropped from the England squad before he made his international debut because he was at a nightclub at midnight two days before a match, and now b/c he's reportedly knobing Kelly Brook. Oh, and according to Wiki he once dated a Cheeky Girl. With that track record I'm not surprised Josh Lewsey clocked him. Danny Cipriani now in danger of being kicked off the team for a second time after a drink-driving-crash incident: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3106660/England-rugby-star-Danny-Cipriani-held-suspicion-drink-driving-5am-collision-involving-Mercedes.html A risky bet for people who also pick Paul Gascoigne or Charlie Sheen.

Exactly. I still remember the joy discovering that there already was a thread for Sir Ranulph Fiennes when I reported his intention to run the Sahara marathon. And I always try to find the most specific thread. Heads of state is a category with only about 1000 (if at all) living member whereas "political frailty" could cover 10000s of people. Maybe I should have posted the news of the Sultan of Oman in the Sheikh Down thread, but is the Sultan of Oman a sheikh? He definitely wasn't down.

There is a rumour going around that Helmut Kohl is in intensive care after a heavy intestinal surgery: http://www.tagesspiegel.de/politik/nach-darm-op-altkanzler-helmut-kohl-offenbar-auf-intensivstation/11859160.html (link in German)
